I don't think dmitry means if you're headstrong you'll be ok for sure. I think he meant, and I agree, that those who do them and handle them well, are the headstrong type. You have to have a good sense of yourself, your behavior, and what's around you to handle being fucked up on something and not letting it override your better judgment all the time.

Drugs can get the best of any type of person, it's just less likely to happen to those who are more aware and stronger of mind. It's always somewhat of a gamble though..

You have to control the drugs, don't let the drugs control you. If you know you can't handle them either comedowns or passing out in a club for example just dont use them.

I won’t lie 5 years ago I thought I was in control of the drug, that shit grabbed me and didn't let go. You never know when the roles will switch, shit just happens. I don’t consider myself dumb, don’t think intelligence has to do with the addiction, but it does have to do with the taking the right steps when you are addicted. I Went to rehab in Boca, cleaned myself up and started concentrating on making $. Not to long after that I launched NCC plus other ventures. I wouldn't be where I am now if I didn't take those steps and a lot of people don’t. u know unfortunately drugs are everywhere. i went to a freaken comedy club yesterday night and the table across from us were snorting coke!!! when i went to the bathroom, i opened the door and a woman who was sitting at that table was doin a line, and forgot to lock the door:disgusted . i was shocked for a sec and then i just shut the door. and the whole table one by one kept on goin to the bathroom. I agree- just like not all drinkers are alcoholics, not all those who do coke are addicts. I think people who haven't been around drugs much, or the people who do them, have the idea that everyone who does them is " addicted". They'll overlook people being in bars drinking nightly as " fine" but when they see someone put something up their nose, they're a "junkie" or "addict". Not the case.

Alcoholism runs in my family, and it is just as ugly, if not uglier than any other drug addiction. You said it about intellligence- anybody can become addicted, but the smart, self-aware ones will REALIZE their problem and go about getting help. In my opinion, there's no shame in having the problem, it can happen, everyone makes mistakes. But allowing it go on , and ruin your life when you see it happening is when you need to feel like you've fucked up.

Addiction is not all about the frequency, and I've said many times, most people do NOT do drugs throughout their entire life, in moderation or otherwise , but they DO DRINK. Really? There's no such thing as doing drugs in moderation your whole life? Drugs are for the headstrong, some people should not be doing them. If people do their thing and keep it under dl and dont pass out anywhere, I dont have a problem with that. If you sloppy, passing out once a month then you should not be doing them. The drinking, beer musles crowd is a lot worst at least to me in the scene then the drug crowd. I'm not saying I approve drug use, thats not for me to approve or disapprove but I'm saying make sure you have the head for it, drugs could fuck you up.

That's retarded. I know people who don't touch drugs, are MUSIC junkies, and have a great time. Drugs are NOT the scene, they are just a part OF IT. Nobody should go out just for drugs, as long as you're going primarily for other reasons, the drugs are just something you do IN ADDITION. But it was the place, the music, the dj, the people that shoulda been FIRST on your list of reasons. Maybe b/c you're " newer" to the scene you don't know any other way..but drugs def are NOT the scene. How if you're only clubbing fairly recently would you be able to say drugs " always were" the scene ???

If anything an abundance of od's or just blatant drug abuse is more a poor reflection of the club, and their lack of discretion with who they let in, letting money be the only thing that matters. DJ's don't work the door or do security
