i stayed at the bently last year we had a sick 2 bedroom suit with a rap around balcony that over look nikki beach on one side and the ocean on the u guys stayin there are in for a treat very nice hotel

this year im stayin at the royal palms

Was staying @ the Savoy- now I hope the place burns down (sorry for anyone staying there- but they have royally dicked my friends and i over :disgusted).

Now its looking like I'll be calling the Lovely pool @ the Loews home :sun :drink :drunk :buck

What happened with the Savoy?!?

I'll give you the abbreviated version. After reading JonPaul's post yesterday about Hotels being overbooked, I decided to call and confirm for a SECOND time, just in case. When I speak to the hotel- they claim we have no reservation, even though we booked and paid for this through Cheaptickets.com in January. I then call the website and after many agonizing hours on the phone trying to get some sort of an answer from them, they claim another booking agency they work with did not get the information that the hotel was filled to capacity and allowed our reservation to "slip through the cracks. " Presently, the hotel is trying to find us another accomodation, which I have to approve, but I am now pissed that Cheaptickets refuses to supply me with any documentation of what has transpired thus far.

We do have another room reserved at the Loews now, thanks to Jessica, but it has been the bain of my existence for the past 24 hours. :wallbang

wow...when you confirmed the first time who did you confirm with?
the hotel? or cheaptickets?

We confirmed with both cheaptickets via their confirmation email and the hotel via phone call the day after.

i utterly despise them right now :grumpy

i find internet bookings cannot be trusted... after 2 other online confirmations that the hotels themselves would not confirm... i ended up bookng a 3rd time for this trip with orbitz... in which i prepaid the room up front and have confirmed twice now with the hotel that my rez. is good to go....

mike and i were almost screwed on a random weekend to so fla. that the website confirmed and the hotel would not once we were there... we even had the confirmation printout- but the hotel was saying that confirmation # only applied to the website and was not a useable confirmation code for their rooms- between the front desk and a very long cell phone call to the website our check-in took over a hour 1/2

No, last year you stayed at the Bentley BEACH... Lol. I know this because we were on our way to come see you guys and were wandering up and down the hallway of the Bentley trying to find the room and FINALLY figured it out. :keke

So you have it all in writing...I'm sure their asses are covered somewhere in that tiny tiny print you can never read because its either too small or would take a few hours to go thru :booted

I have called our hotel a FEW times :keke

Its terrible the Savoy did this to you girls...they have a good reputation too :pullhair I'd go on every travel website and give them a HORRIBLE review as well as cheaptickets...believe it or not it DOES have an impact, I use the reviews and know many many others that do as well...like tripadvisor.com, yahoo travel, etc...

Well we finally took care of everything- Savoy refunded us our money- we got an great rate for the Loews, thanks to a lil help from Ginz :buck, and now im just waiting on a confirmation of our flights again from Cheaptickets- and everything is hunky dory. :schwenk

i'm glad things are starting to work out for you now... i had thought in the back of my mind that pre-paying the whole deal up front would be to your advantage for some sort of security... that's really messed up w/ what happened to you...
