Ok I am going to join a new gym by my house today or tomorrow... Only problems is that its a small gym (cheap!! which i need) and it seems to get pretty crowded. There are not many cardio machines so I am going to have to figure out a good workout - that is not so dependant on the machines...

Will probably shoot for 3-4 days a week (whatever I can fit in with studying). Need some workout ideas. I am looking to drop 10 pounds and tone (ALOT).

I just started taking Stacker2 again today. Trying to cut down on the eating - I want my tummy to shrink a bit.

Any suggestions??

try a full body workout every other day for one month, to get your body conditioned. 3 sets of each body part. 20 minutes of cardio is good also. after a month start to isolate your muscle groups.

the only way to get rid of a tummy...........is cardio......... running..........and alot of it........forget about the elperical machine........no good..............i didnt start seeing results until i started running 3 miles 5-6x a week............which is alot for most people...............alot of people dont have the time like that.................

...first u need the midset and dedication to do it.........for me......i gave up all fast food.......havent touched it in 2 years......

....basically......get right.....try substitue at least one meal for a shake or soemthing...........run at least 2 miles x a week.........and a little weight training.......10 pounds could be gone in 3 weeks........

Oh yeah...forgot to add:

I cant really run - my knees are shot from when I used to run track. Any kind of impact like that hurts. Walking is fine - I actually really like the eliptical machines....

1. do lots of cardio ... I luv running but any type of cardio will do it - 5-6x a week is a must. Then after do an AB workout - do it til it burns - be dedicated to it.

2. diet - stop eating crap whenever you can - be dedicated - don't give in. No fast food or dessert crap - easy on bread etc.

3. then do light weight workouts to tone ... do this 3-4x a week

stay with this for months and you will see results

You burn alot of calories on the Eliptical so its good if you like to it. Make sure you are going at least 80% of your target heart rate cause thats key when you do cardio (target heart rate). You should aslo try jump ropeing if you can, its really good, not only for cardio but for hand and eye corordination.

You can also make your weight training more aerobic rather then anaerobic(sp) by not resting as much and superseting your exercises. This will work up a nice swet and get your heart rate going and you will breath alot harder then you would if you just did a set and rested.

Keep your reps hi (15 -20) and keep the weight moderate but not heavy.

You can also split your cardio up and make the whole work out alot more benificial for loosing weight. Do like 15 min in the beg and then go work out (raise your heart rate) and then after your done working out with the weights, go back and do another 10 15 min of cardio. This will keep your heart rate alot higher and you will burn more calories while your at the gym.

Good luck!

i really like the Eliptical machines too ...it makes you sweat alot but at least you know its working...when my cousin got into a car accident her knee's were not in great shape ...so she used to walk on the tredmill at slower pace for like 10 minuts at a time and then she would do the eliptical and it worked for her..also drink lots of water...:)
