what an utter disappointment!
if u didnt see it please close this thread now
last chance!
ok fight scenes were niceeeeee very cool although remember at the end of the first one he was able to move ridiculously fast? ummm did he lose that power? all of a sudden hes a great fighter but hes no faster then the agents.....he used to be able to jump into them and kill them right away now he can hardly hurt them
the first one made it like everyone that escaped the matrix was a computer hacker who found out about it now all of a sudden everyone in Zion are families or African and seem to be primative
what was with the african dancing and carrying on playing the drums all about? it was like a Zion orgy terrible pointless scene
speaking of pointless scenes what was the point of Neo having to kiss that bitch to get Trinity mad? that scene was cool but made noooooooo sense at all
morpheus' little spech was cheeeeeeeeeeesy! he played such a calm cool character in the first one now hes trying to be martin luther king
and when did this movie become a comedy and a love story?
it was all sci-fim, high action, interesting plot now its 1/3action
1/3 love story 1/3 comedy
that black guy making jokes the whole time was completely out of character with the first movie... if i had 12 hours to live before i was gonna get attacked by 750,000 centinals i dont think id be cracking jokes
the worsttttttttt scene without a doubt was the end
first Trinity's death scene was way to quick and anti- clamatic and then Neo reaches into trinity and pumps her heart and brings her back to life and she wakes right up and starts making out with him? ughhhh who wrote that crap? terribleeeeee ending
then making us sit thru 25 min credits to see the coming attractions for the conclusion was retarded too
the 3rd one looks almost as poorly written as this one was
i give it 2 thumbs down with the exception of the action scenes
terrible writting!! very disappointing

allow me to elaborate....
in the end of the first one Neo realized he was the "One" and killed 3 Agents with ease....but Agent Smith has returned but he is no longer a part of the Matrix so maybe he cant be so easily dispatched...besides he did kinda kick all their asses until there was like 90 of them...but i would probablyhave to go with...if he could kill the agents so easily it wouldnt make for much of a movie...
as for the citizens of Zion, you might remeber that although pple are saved from the MAtrix many in Zion have been born free and were never a part of the MAtrix ( as in the guys who pilot the ships and watch the ones who enter the system...
the dancing...i just dont know...pple are broke and cant afford other instruments i guess when you live in a big cave...
as for the guy making jokes...well if the world was gonna end id probably make a few jokes rather than sit around and wine about it...a lil brevity never hurt any...
then comes the saving Trinity thing...well she saved him ( and there really was no explanation for how she did it) in the first part...at least when he saved her it made more sense because he can manipulate the program...so since Trinity in the Matrix is only a representation given form by programing, he can reach into whatever he wants and massage her virtual heart in essence making her real body believe that the heart is pumping and saving her....uh....yeah thats it...
and i didnt sit thru the credits so i missed the previews for Revolutions.
well thats just my 2 cents.....thank you and good nite...

I liked it a lot, although I gotta admit I liked the Tank character a lot better then link, I gotta see it again to clear some things up.
And as you said before agent Smith isnt an Agent anymore and there where familers in Zion they even talked about in the first one that were Tank and Dozer were from.
i never saw the first..have no intentions to see it..or this one for that matter

Smith isn't an agent anymore, so maybe that explains it.

They didnt escape the Matrix because they were computer hackers. Thier minds were freed because someone who had escaped the Matrix b4 explained it to them and made them understand. And I dont think they were primitive. In fact, they were dancing to music that was pretty similar to the music you and I dance to in clubs.
speaking of pointless scenes what was the point of Neo having to kiss that bitch to get Trinity mad? that scene was cool but made noooooooo sense at all
Monica Belucci explained why she wanted Neo to kiss her. She had been in love once and no longer felt that feeling. She wanted him to kiss her so she could remember just for a second what it was like. One major point to the movie is that love conquers all. If you remember in the first movie, the Oracle told Trinity that Neo is The One because Trinity loves him.
morpheus' little spech was cheeeeeeeeeeesy! he played such a calm cool character in the first one now hes trying to be martin luther king
I think this may have something to do with the role Morpheus is portrayed as in regards to the underlying references to religion. He is supposed to be some kind of messenger or prophet and so this type of speech would not be strange coming from someone like him. Yea, it was a bit exxagerated, but come on this is the Matrix. Its all exaggerated.

I think you have to be a lil more open minded about what this movie is about and go deeper than just the surface. The movie is about many things. Its about love, fate, destiny, hope, and choice. All elements are required to make a good movie great and without a lil comedy, this movie would have been a bit droll. Comedy exists in life even in the toughest of times. We just went thru a war too, but we never stopped laughing.

I think you should definitely see the movie again and think about some of these things. Read up on it a lil and take different perspectives and fit them into yours. Its really interesting what you can take from this movie, because like I said, there is so much more there than what is on the surface.
Ok, I've seen it.
Get ready for it...
I loved it more than the first.
Why? A few reasons and here they are.
1. You have to take in the first movie and MR as an extension of it, not that it can stand on its own. My daughter still didn't want to see the first one, and she was ok with MR, mainly with the special effects. The first one ends, sure, but no one knows how Neo will defeat the system. Here's a story that takes off where the first one ended.
2. Special effects were unreal. I've seen many movies, and many games, but you can't tell me that the effects did not blow anyone away. The Agent fighting? Awesome, loved the pipe. The car chase was a first. When Trinity is zig-zagging in to an opposite moving traffic, I felt like it was me on the bike. Even got the wind burn.
3. Plot WAS there and it was as healthy as it was as the first. The scene with the architect blew me away. I mean EVERYone I know (when asked after the movie--those with me and not) expected Neo to take the door to the core. It was the right thing to do and he didn't sacrifice Trinity nor the people. Very unpredictable twist.
The philosophy of AI overwriting itself because it does not want to be deleted? How Smith became unplugged, that was sweetly done. Has anyone heard of evolution in biology and how this mirrors the real life? It's not a direct analogy but close.
4. Morpheus speech was NOT long at all, perhaps it's because I expected it to be long but it was not that bad. 30 Seconds perhaps? 40? The camera was too busy spanning and giving us a scope of the crowd, of the real unplugged folk, that had to take some time and what better way than through a speech? You didn't like the rhythmic dance they did? I thought it was very sexual, and loved how they kept switching back and forth between Trinity's lovemaking and the entire, sweaty, energetic crowd.
5. The movie ends quite nicely, actually, not too long and not too short. It gives you a glimpse in to the next phase of the war. Neo lying head to head to the Agent. Lovely.
Glad I saw this, it's probably one of the best movies I've seen since The Two Towers.
There's no right or wrong answer and taste is an ambigious and individual entity. :)

Yea definitely a great scene. I also agree with Leon on that party/love making scene. It was pretty hot. I loved the way they showed them holding eachother in the end. It was done so tastefully. Only thing that bothered me just a lil was all those plugs in thier backs. It made them look like lizards lol.

In all honesty, my biggest apprehension regarding this sequel is that it would lack the philosophy and/or the deeper plot. When I saw the previews it was all special effects and other eye candy. Eye candy is nice, but it's so great they didn't forget the plot, the story, and to make everyone (once again) think.

Yea its too bad that some people totally missed the plot because they felt that the special effects somehow were too overbaring, which to an extent they were. I do however encourage people who think there was no plot, to see it again and try to find it, cuz it's definitely there.
Btw, MsRay (and others) if you REALLY want to be blown away by the amount of research, albeit theological, that has gone in to this series, check out this article/post

The only thing that bothered me about the article was when he said that the woman who plays the Oracle died and how they were going to deal with that for the sequel. Umm isnt this Matrix geek aware that they filmed both Reloaded and Revolutions at the same time?
There are some discrepencies, for sure. :(

I went Sunday with Leon and Eleni to see this hyped up flick. I did enjoy the movie, it was entertaining, the special effects were the best I have seen. The highway scene was incredible, the camera movement was unreal. I liked it but not a movie I would tell my friends or others "you got to go see it its great", to me it’s another action movie, nothing more nothing less. I don’t think I will go see the 3rd one in the theater, will wait for PPV or DVD. I like movies like Identity, 6th Sense, Usual Suspects, where you come out of the theater saying "WOW!", I didn't do that with Matrix 1 or 2. I give it 3.5 stars.
Btw the T3 doesn't look too appealing in that commercial.

pretty freaky that both the matrix AND zion are 1 big simulation that keeps crashing and has to get reloaded.. crazy concept.

yeah, definitely a weak preview for T3...no chills that the T2 preview gave...I hope there are some twists...just seems to be T2 with the kid older and an upgraded baddie...
