My long awaited Vacation is just about here. Can't wait to kick back in Scottsdale this coming Saturday and for the week following. Play golf, eat and sit by the pool is all thats on my agenda while I am down there.:yipee :applaud :yipee :agree :lostit
We are staying at The Phoenician like last year. Place is insane. I will have multiple restaurant reviews to post in the Food Forum like I did last year.
Anyone ever stay here before? Any restaurant recommendations for Scottsdale? I have been to Mastro's, City Hall, Ocean Club, Sapporo, Michaels, Tommy Bahamas and a few other places.

The Phoenician is absolutely STUNNING!!!
Dmitry and I were there almost 2 years ago...Saporro was a place to "be seen" lol...good food too...we also chartered a private jeep and had someone take us 4x4 wheeling in the desert...I was scared of course :chatterin I thought I was going to fly outta that jeep at ANY given moment...but all in all it was great fun. :lostit Its a really beautiful place Scottsdale, so clean and new :heart

When we were there in January we ate at Sapporo. It was good, we did Hibachi in this little private room to the right when you walk in. It was fun. The huge flames out front are great. I would like to try some new places and then def hit up Ocean Club (Awesome Seafood place that is owned by Mastro's) and Mastro's or City Hall cause they are 2 of the best Steakhouses I have ever eat at. We stayed at the Four Season back in January and it was totally different over there compared to where the Phoenician is. Much more quiet and peaceful. Resort was unbelievable just like the Phoenician.:agree

Scottsdale is a fuckn awesome city super clean nice people mostly everyone is rich barely any crime. Sick houses that you can get for under a million bucks and the nightlife isnt really that bad.

I think the Phoenician is the absolute best. I always correlate the 4 Seasons with old people :shuffle...although you will get those everywhere where there is GOLF lol...still, 4 Seasons is a bit stuffy for me and very uptight, I like these hip trendy spots, I always prefer boutique hotels... but the Phoenician is just one of those super resorts that ANYONE would love, the grounds are absolutely incredible - lots of money went into that place and it shows! :agree

The 2 places are so different. My girlfriend works for 4 Seaons here in Chicago so we got pampered when we were there in Jan. They were at 80% Occupancy and we saw maybe 10 people in a the 5 days we were there. It was prett funny. But it is a little more stuffy like you said. Phoenician is a lot more fun and they have all the pools and stuff to do right at the Resort. You really don't have to leave there the entire time and you will be fine. The golf courses at the Phoenician are immaculate and awesome as well. Probably some of the best courses I have ever played on. The Canyon course was closed though as was the Canyon part of the resort last summer. We got all drunk and went swimming in the pool at like midnight anyway.....:shuffle
Did you have the Phoenician Crunch when you were there???:spitfall

:agree I went there on a business trip back in October. Gorgeous place. Nice people. Great weather. And yeah, nightlife not too shabby. I mean, nothing close to NYC, but for what it is I had fun when I went out.

Melissa and I just came back from Scottsdale. Def a nice place. I didnt go down so much to look for clubs and stuff but to hang out and visit my father (he is building a trolly system there).
The houses are $$$$, the land down there has gone up in price drastically over the past 5-10 years. Tons of construction going on and houses being built.

Some of the houses we saw around the resort were just insane. All had Grapefruit trees in their yards, which would be awesome. That or a huge saguaro cactus. There are so many down there.

Here are a couple of suggestions:
Sassi

Cowboy Ciao

Furio

Sassi is by far my favorite restaurant. It's in North Scottsdale. The other 2 are in old town...both of which are excellent as well.
Oh and if you want a nice casual place with the best steak in town...go to Frasher's in old town. Filet Mignon is off the charts at a extremely reasonable price. They're from St. Louis so make sure you have their toasted ravioli. You can eat in the bar or in the dining room. The bar is where it's at. They serve until midnight if I'm not mistaken.
Hope this is useful. If you need more help, just let me know!

The houses are $$$ compared to what? Definitely not NY. Far less expensive in AZ. Although you're right....they have gone up quite a bit from 5 years ago.
Can you please tell your father and his boys to hurry up with this friggin trolly. The construction is fuckin me up on my way into work..haha!

LOL...they got two crews working on the area he is building (night and day).
Some of the houses were a million plus, others were in 8-900K. They were nice and everything but thats some serious loot. I dont know about most people, but thats not all that cheap. I know someone said they were cheap.

Thats a lot of money. And you are talking about normal houses right? Not like 8 bedroom, 10,000+ sq ft homes.

That is mostly what I plan to do. We hang out at the resort all day by the pool. Play golf one day maybe 2 days. Possibly head to Sedona for a day as well. Supposed to be really nice there. And then at night we go to a different restaurant each night or eat at the Hotel restaurants. Can't wait to do mainly nothing though. Sip some drinks by the pool...........:lounge :golfing :dinner :drunk :eat

What are you kidding me? I would move there in a heartbeat if I was able to. Desert, open roads...I would have a field day. I would be in heaven out there. Get some ATV's, a Motorcycle and build a bad ass car....come on now, over 60. Plus its 3hrs from Vegas (driving), that like a trip to AC (almost).
