SYRIA has been raising slogans of “resistance” since the beginning of Israel’s aggression on Lebanon and the killing of the Lebanese. One wonders what resistance Syria is talking about or against whom. While Lebanon is bleeding and being demolished, the only resistance from Syria has been in the form of words and slogans. This is the typical war fought by religious fundamentalists and intellectual terrorists. Syria will be happy to resist in its own way as long as its cities and towns are safe. Never mind the destruction and killing of innocent children in Lebanon.
Great article by Kuwaiti journalist, he already made some predictions that came true:

Soon Syria and Iran will start spreading illusions of victory, especially after the issuance of UN Resolution 1706, doing a repeat of 1967 when Gamal Abdul Nasser and other intellectual terrorist groups attempted to turn a disgracing defeat into a temporary setback. In the name of “Liberating Palestine,” the Nasserites succeeded only in destroying Egypt’s economy and future. There is no winner in Lebanon. Hezbollah’s defeat has affected everything in Lebanon — including its people, buildings, and infrastructure. However, some Lebanese politicians, who are followers of the Syrian regime, won’t be able to avoid coming up with misleading statements praising Hassan Nasrallah for achieving victory.

i think its pretty universal (excluding bush and olmert) that hassan nasrallah came out victorious in this conflict....

I watched a great segment on CNN that gave scorecards (gains, losses) for hezbullah, Lebanese gov, Israel, and US..... hezb. only real loss from this whole thing is IF there will be a political fallout in the near future....

Did you honestly think CNN would ever report anything in favor of the US or Israel, c'mon now.

Arguably, but Nasrallah didn't bring victory to the Lebanese.

Agreed but he didnt bring victory to Israel as well. This is the first time in Arab history that someone fought Israel to a standstill for 32 days. To them its a huge victory. In reality no one won.

ANd GHB i dont know why u think of CNN as biast against Israel I watch cnn and dont see it biast against Israel if anything its biast for Israel. But to be honest i think CNN is only behind ABC to fair reporting by an American media outlet.

Of course you wouldn't see the bias against Israel. CNN = Crescent Network News. It is al jazeera light.
It is an outlet for enemy propaganda. They have a huge left leaning slant in their reporting. None of the major media outlets are much better, not even Foxnews who the liberals seem to think is far right.

Don't get me wrong I watch mainstream media too, I just don't take everything they report as gospel & read between the lines. I also read outlets like newsmax, honest reporting plus various links off conservative sites.

How can anyone who knows anything about anything ... give this guy any credibility when he posts statements like this?

it seems what he wants to see is Hannity giving OReilly a handjob while Coulter tries to outyell Rush Limbaugh about the dangers of liberals and their islamic facists friends, all the while Cheney and Pat Robertson talk about the dangers of the dems winning this november and how that will lead to the US annihilation......

man, imagining that scene in my head makes me want to vommit, but for GHB that would be a moderate-right show that would need a little more tweaking....maybe a public execution of a gitmo prisoner during commercial break.....

Throw a hamas or hezbollah terrorist in there & I'll definitely watch.

After 9/11, the media was petrified to ask hard questions regarding administrations policies and future plans....

the media is there as a check and balance to the government.... thats what separates us from N. Korea for example.....

so what did we get, not enough tough critical looks at the basis for war in iraq, it was just ra-ra-ra..... now with a disaster in Iraq, the media, slowly but surely is growing some balls and is asking some hard questions.....

GHB and others want to go back to how the media was on 9/12/01 ... fuck that.... if you want that you should move to a communist or dictatorship country.... free press, liberal, progressive, is what this country NEEDS..to keep our gov in check.

Folks, what does all this CNN crap have to do with the original topic? The writer in this particular thread is a Muslim, a Kuwaiti, the source is Arab News. I am not saying everything he writes or comes from the source is the absolute truth but can we go back to discussing the original point?

If you want to discuss CNN and other things pertaining to it, may I suggest a different thread?
