Dont feel bad i have been getting one for the last three years with a company trip to AC paid for but i dont think im getting shit this year. Sadly there was some huge fallout with the boss's here and buisness has hit the shitter. Going form 2 mill a month to maybe 20,000 sux we only had 7 employess. Thank god i have shit to fall back on when thsi ride is over looks like ill be a union man for a bit.

Not sure everyone knows just yet....My boss just pulled me in and we ranted together...two years ago we got a LITTLE bonus...like 1 week's pay...but still, it shows employees you appreciate them and you're thanking them for their work all year. Between the small number of employees and giving a small amount, its like pocket change to the CEO...

I'm not going anywhere just yet but probably within the next 6-8 months will start looking....between our horrible medical benefits and this, it' sjust BULLSHIT

I dont get my bonus till febuary but I would leave a job without a bonus unless i was getting sick other compenstation (5 weeks vacation, huge base, etc).

Agreed. In fact all the recruiters emailing me are like I'll talk to you after your bonus.

Some companies, however, offer signing bonuses (so this can offset the pain of boucning early) I would never walk away from my bonus but thats because it is 5 figures. If I was getting like an 8 grand bonus I wouldnt care about it but when you get to a certain point your bonus is so huge they use it to totally control you.

When I worked for wachovia we would even get NICEEEEEEEEEEE things for valentines day and stuff like that. I work for a small company only 3 ppl including me and they gave me a veeeeeeeeeeeeeerrry nice bonus. Im so happy with it.

That's not true. Actually some companies gurantee a bonus. Especially financials where bonus can be as much as 20% of your base. Exact reason I would never leave without it and companies know this and it allows them to really control the options.

and to boot...they put it into my check, which then put me into a different tax bracket, which in turn made todays check 3 dollars lower than my normal checks. i could care less bout the 3 dollars..but its just the point.
