yes, i've been to summers before . . . but its been a long long time. if i want to catch euro-soccer games, i usually go to lucky bar on connecticut ave in dc. check out this website:
Soccer Nation (http://www.soccer-nation.com/)
there's a link to their international schedule and other locations for games.
back to summers, i don't know about what games they cover but the owner is persian so i know he gets a lot of asian games. there is 1 big screen with a bunch of smaller ones through the place. the last time i was there was back in '98 during the world cup qualifiers . . . Iran vs Australia -- the second leg, when Iran equalized 2 goals in the last 10 minutes to advance on the away goals tie-breaker. i think every fire hazard in the county was violated that early morning cuz it was so damn packed. it was the second most memorable game to watch on TV for me because it took Iran to the WC finals . . . and that game is second only to Iran defeating the US during the group phase of world cup 98.

they will be damn good but the reality of it is that they do NOT have a strong defence -- they never have. they rely on the midfield to control the possession -- and their defenders are very prone to pushing up on the attack, so their style of play is more about simply scoring more goals than their opponents, as opposed to preventing the other team from scoring. they are definitely gonna have to unload some players. figo might go to Inter, they may lose guti and morientes. personally, i loathe real madrid -- to me, them and man u are the NY Yankees of european soccer. i, personally, am a fan of the dark-side -- Bayern Munich.

success in soccer is highly contigent on revenue. he brings with him a world following as far as endorsements, merchandise, etc. i don't know how much of a difference he'll make on the field though. there are so many other players out there with more talent.

he's ok but I wouldn't say he's better than any of the existing stars on Real Madrid...he certainly has a good media following though...
darius...i didn't know Lucky Bar televised that much...definitely a better option for me than Summers...does in get crowded in there though? any recommended time to get there for tomorrows 7pm US vs Turkey replay?

hmmm, usually replays aren't as crowded, but i would say get there about 20-30 minutes before kick-off, and give yourself some cushion to find parking
