I can just give a letter of resignation and leave thats the nature of my business though
generally its 2 weeks for everything else
I cant fuckin wait to quit.....Im strongly considering resigning and then going hardcore looking for a new job.....I can afford to do it...its just the thought of being unemployed that I dont like.....Ive been working since I was 16....and to say to people I dont have a job doesnt feel good

always give a letter of resignation so they dont try to fuck you and say they fired you
I'd go in there and say your unhappy and seriously considering leaving if you dont get help with all the work thats being thrown on you....first try to resolve the problem and explain the issue...

Why dont you speak with your boss and tell them that you are overwhelmed with all this work and you need some help or more time? You should communicate that with your boss, they will understand.
Also, why quit, just because you got a lot of work piled on you? The further in your career you get, the harder it will be, you should just stick with it and get it done.

You should just walk in and quit fuck that, I did that with my last job and gave about 10minutes notice. I would only care about the 2 weeks notice if you were looking for them to be a reference for you

so in your next job if you get a lot of work, you going to quit when the going gets tough?
have fun trying to explain in an interview why you quit this job...if you say you couldn't handle the demands, that's not going to look good. And you should def. give them a letter of resignation and not just say "I quit" - you might need some work references as recruiters and most cos. ask for personal references they can call for feedback on you.
since you haven't been there long...they might also ask why you were there such a short period of time. job-hopping like that will come back and haunt you at some point.

Two weeks is done just out of consideration for ure current job. Do jobs give u 2 weeks notice when they fire u..dont think so. My job will only verify dates of employment but they're shady so I could see them badmouthing someone to a new company. I gave my 2 weeks on monday..only reason why is bc i wanna get paid out for all my vacation time. The new company I know does a thorough background check so I know they'll be calling this place. I've done absolutely nothing the past week and plan on doing that till my last day lol

don't quit! I don't know about you, but my job is my lifeline. Even if I wanted to I couldn't quit b/c of the 238742642 bills I need to pay. Unemployment wouldn't even cover a fraction of that. Talk to your boss and just them him/her that you're overwhelmed. If you feel you're not compensated enough for the new tasks that are given to you, you need to bring that to their attention too. More responsibilities = more $$. Think of it that way. If they think otherwise, then walk out.

Seriously though, it is going to get a lot tougher, and take it from experience, getting that shit done will help you a lot more in the long run.
YOu dont just quit when you dont want to do something ,that looks really bad, and says alot about work ethic.

I hate to tell ya but a lot of companies don't have the growth potential. I worked for a co. of 10,000 and even though I was a star player, I got stuck in the job b/c I was doing so well, recognized by the leadership of the company for their IT support and they didn't want to lose me. I found out from a partner one time about the "gentle words" given to them about me and how they wanted to keep me where I was b/c there wasn't anyone to replace me.
Luckily I'm not in an upwardly mobile position and after 1 year I already got promoted. BUT I put in a good 10 years of work to get here. Just whining that it sucks to be a worker bee and not putting in your time, etc. ain't gonna make you upwardly mobile. So good luck with that....
put it this way...the grass ain't necessarily greener elsewhere - every job has it's positives and negatives. Go to a big co. and you'll bitch about all the work they pile on there. My acctg. firm treated all the jr. people like slaves...late nights, etc....you could def. not handle it.
A friend of mine is a studio mgr. at one of the top 5 ad firms and at least 2-3 times a week she goes in at 1pm and doesn't leave until 6-7am the next morning, then has to go back in by 3pm. Just the nature of advertising. If she whined just once, she'd be outta there.

This is a good point and another problem...sometimes, they dont want to move you bc out of selfishness...you are doing the job so well, your boss does not want to move you and find someone else to do that. Complacency(sp?) is a bad sign...I saw that at one place I was at and bounced immediately.
I am very lucky where I am now, bc I am the only finance person in my department in North America, and my boss has already told me that I will basically be in that position, as long as the business keeps growing...

I love getting the question of "what do you have thats better to do right now?"
when I go to leave after a 9 hour day....or if i take a weekend off
what do I have thats better to do....like I should work 12 hour days 6 days a week....with no overtime....and no fuckin SALARY!
Sales sucks cuz you are essentially a whore.....and you work for pimps.....they will get people to do the most rediculious things for little or no money.....
the other day I got a text from some dude I work with thats a self proclaimed boss...it was 7:15 in the morning..."go to my desk and get me a phone number for so and so"....I text back...Im in fuckin bed asshole
hate hate hate that place
