I am an illegal downloader. Bring It!

Im a little confused though. I am not the one bringing the ability to download to the public. Websites like Kaaza, Imesh, Soulseek, & whatever else there is are.

Wouldnt it be alot easier to go after one source rather then millions?

Wouldnt it be alot easier to go after one source rather then millions? They've been trying, but their efforts aren't making a dent in downloading. Also, there are other uses beyond illegal downloading that some of these companies argue should absolve them of responsibility in the same manner VCRs aren't illegal simply because they could be used to dub Blockbuster Video tapes.

This new thinking goes if the users won't download, then the companies and programs will "go away" taking the piracy problem with it.

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) suggested Tuesday that people who download copyright materials from the Internet should have their computers automatically destroyed.

But Hatch himself is using unlicensed software on his official website, which presumably would qualify his computer to be smoked by the system he proposes.

Sen. Orrin Hatch's Web woes just won't go away. Until Friday, a link on the conservative Republican's website led to a pornographic site.

funny thing is the way the government is set up right now (all republican) anything this idiot tries to do will pass.. it's the only reason republicans are soaking up this time and pulling off these outrageous, stupid laws. They are so out of touch with reality and what really matters that it gets me sick.
