God damn at the end i thought i was gonna die. I raised the incline to 15 degress then went to about 3.5mph. And 33 mins later i burned up 500 calories. All i have to say is wow.

I love watching people walk on an incline as they hold on to the top of the treadmill

putting it on the incline is great... works your abs.... but you shouldn't hold on... if you have to hold on, slow it down....

Holding on is pointless IMO, your body is not working nearly as hard. Lower the inclie so you don't have to hold on, that is much more effective than holding on.

The most I have done is 12 and @3.5mph .. but i usually go up there when Im doing HITT b/c after a minute or two I feel like my calves are going to explode.. yesterday I did 3.5mph @12 for about 7 mins and alternated betw that & running/walking.. I am seeing crazy results in my thighs/calves & butt as a result of my routine though :lifting

Wish I could say the same about my mid-section/upper body though :yousuck

I just read an article in last months mens fitness that said that stretching before a workout promotes DOMS, but if it's happenning during the workout yeah it's that your calves aren't strong enough.

You should defintely work them out, don't worry when you build muscle you'll lose fat, you may not see as much weight loss but that's because muscle weighs more then fat, but it will make you look leaner and help you for the grueling cardio. Eventually your legs will get strong enough you can do anything, I did my leg workout yesterday, squats, presses, calves then walked on the treadmill for like 1/2 hour.

the only time there is anything wrong with growing a butt is if it happened because you got fat. otherwise... that should be exactly what you want to acheive. I think all guys would agree and girls should too!!

I always did the treadmill on the 15 incline and walked at 3.5. Now I'm jogging though so I just do it flat or at 1 or 2 incline and bump it up to 5 incline for the last 5 mins. I just started that this week, it would be nice to be able to do my whole jog on a higher incline but I'm far from that.

You guys shouldn't hold on though, it defeats the purpose by making it easier. if you need it to be easier then just take it down a notch to where you don't have to hold on.

I get foot cramps when I do weights, those realllllly suck. I get foot cramps randomly sometimes just walking around my house. Dunno if it's something to see a doctor about though.
