the past few days my ankles and surrounding areas have been feeling strained when i am on the treadmill or doing certain moves in kickboxing.. does anyone know what is the cause of this?

should i change my sneakers? its annoying because cardiovascularly i can keep going but i end up stopping because my lower legs feel strained.

any help is appreciated :)

So weird, I was going to post about this. I was doing 3.5 on the treadmill, and the front of my legs, the bottom part started to hurt a bit. I realized yesterday it was my sneakers. I wore my shox today, and I was fine.

It's tendonitis.

Yea you're fucking fat alright

Btw avoid wearing flatshoes. Massages, and heat help quite a bit. If you got a guy who write scripts get anti-inflamatories

Try taking Vitamin E, or working out you legs more(non-cardio).

Helps regenerate the tendons. I've hear NO works too but I don't think that's something you girls want to get into.

Something called glyocen (sp?) works also

It's all about the right sneakers and stretching. You should be changing your sneakers every 6 months if you run every day.
And always stretch before and after a workout.
I wouldn't start putting anything into my body until I started with some simple troubleshooting first :)

yup and make sure to ice after your workouts! you could be getting shin splints, icing will definitely help keep that away

if it's shin splints then the muscle along ur shin is tugging away from the bone. this happens when u impact ur heel on the treadmill and some mechanism is straining the dynamic with ur heel-ankle-shin muscle.

take a break and hit up another cardio machine. first thing it has to heal b4 u go readjusting ur form.

shin splints are a pretty general term, one of my teammates is actually having his shins sanded down after the season, the stress fracture lead to swelling of the bone , for cardio he uses the elliptical and a stationary bike,

wel ur buddy has shin splints with a fracture.

i never heard of shin splints being disputed for being anthing other than the muscle separating/tugging/ripping from the bone. the muscles insertion is @ the ankle complex so some fault there will allow the muscle to adhere from the bone. it can be a joint weakness or chronic impact (most common) when this happens, fluid retains which is high in calcium.

this condition may lead to:
chronic cases- calcium will deposit leaving the bone brittle. so even when the muscle heals- it will tear as it moves along the bone.

this can go endless. but the cause of the shin splint is what it is.

I had good results on NO, but don't take it if your taking ECA because they ll counteract each other.
