How is it there?.....packed? expensive? alot of equipment?...........i think i need a new gym.....membership is up in October.......i like my gym cause it's close and convienet and all..........but it so packed.........20 minutes for a treadmill is ridiculous

I've heard a lot of good things about Johnny Lats, the one in manhattan though..

Me - Gold's Gym in Astoria. I finally started going back again 2 weeks ago after a 9 month hiatus.. I also used to work there.

For like 3 days. But its been open since. I hear Cherri will re-open in the winter, obviously with much tighter security.

Its changed names once in 7 years, from Powerhouse to AXIOM, and theres no more Juice flowing through there than any other gym

Me too, that is why i joined.

Its pretty good...they only have like one of everything though....besides bikes, treadmills and elipticals. You have your typical on-the-cellphone type and a few who really look like they are there for a reason. I would have to say more girls are for real there than guys.......although the ratio is about equal.

There are really good classes.....Total Body Fitness, Spinning, Kick Boxing, Self Defense....
Membership, foods, shakes and supplements are all reasonably priced there.

They are also open 24/7 and offer day care if you have to bring your kids.

i work out at the gym my bf manages... valley family fitness in old tappan.. i doubt any of you have heard of it..

You are right...there is an LA Fitness opening soon...they are advertising HUGELY!!

I paid $349 for the year....I got 1 free personal training session, 3 FREE GUEST passes and if you have a friend join you get free months added to your membership.

You can also join tri monthly, or all at once for the year.

used to work out at olympus, but they are tooooooo dirty, then i would just go for free at the gym on my base for free, but im off active duty... i just got a membership to balleys for my b-day from m parents, so im starting to work out there... so far i like it :) i think im going to start using the sauna and shit... :)
