So after about a year of trying to go here I finally went. I was officially not in new york last night and was def. In el borne section of barca! It was truly amazing. I went with a friend who lived in barca for almost a year and we were astonished at how authentic the food was. Honestly I have not had better patatas bravad anywhere in Spain. As usual I ordered 75 percent of the menu and everything had spot on flavors to Spain.it was almost as if they had flown in the stuff and served it.
pimientos verde-blistered(like the string beans at joes) and sprinkled with sea salt
patatas bravas
tomate con savoy
Croquetas con jamon(never had better in any other Latin rest.)
fried chickpeas
razor clams and cockels
lamb skewers
chorizo
salted cod
Spanish tortilla
Pork loin sandwich
serrano ham wrapped artichoke hearts
Flan y dos cortaditos


What a fucking meal FINALLY a place that takes authentic to a whole new meaning!!

U LOVE IT.........I need my fix after watching Bourdain Monday night he was in Shanghai having Shanghainese Soup Dumplings. They looked fuckin RIDIC.

It is time for a meet up. I am still waiting to do the tasting menu at WD-50. Casa Mono has nothing on this place. But its still good.

tia pol's the shit, glad you liked it animale....

i fuggin love the razor clams, papas bravadas and the squid in black in sauce they got there, unlike most other tapas place i've been to in the city. it's really tiny in there but worth the crowd, forreal.


my 2 cents says its the best tapas place in the city, perhaps better than el cid on 15th between 8th and 9th which i been going to since high school and was the reigning champ. el cid might have more exotic stuff such as the baby eels, but at $120 for a tapas plate, won't be having that anytime soon....:shuffle
