NYC renown vinyl shop Satellite to close
Posted: 14 of July at 05:48, 2003 (GMT +1)

TRANCE.NU -- Out of the grapevine comes this unfortunate rumor: one of New York City's most famous and best dance music record shops will close its door in the near future. However, Satellite will continue to stock and sell vinyl online @ www.satelliterecords.com.

I see the future unfolding....

I think it's a good Idea to only sell ON-LINE heres why...

The music industry is getting raped daily by pirating and these "Staple" companies have to cut cost in order to supplly us with the tunes we have growned to love... If you look at it in a finance way they will save thousands in rent and storage costs...
When demand deminishes cutting overhead is the only way to make a buck...

Now people may not like this but I would like to see the music industry fall behind Apple in doing the downloadable site feature... of tunes that's the only way they are going to survive..

Now imagine for a second Satellite started selling the songs in MP3 form would you buy it?? I would, because no matter what you will never be able to find everything you wanted on these file sharing sites.. and prices will decrease because production costs will go down and eventually transfer over to the consumer.. and lower prices always raise demand!!!

Now for the Vynl lovers..

I know this will hard but you don't have to sell your TurnTables yet that's what Final Scratch was made for:) The price has declined, you can pick one up for less then 500 and more and more Top DJ'S are using it every week... The future is changing boys and girls technology is here...

This only my opinion of course :D
