What is the singlehanded most important factor that motivates you to train? And don't show me pics of your favorite bodybuilder. If looking like that is your motivation that state it. My #1 motivating factor that motivates me to train (not just weight training) is the thought of having a violent/armed encounter and not coming out of it alive. That's why I train. Every other eason (health, looks, etc.) is secondary. What's yours!?

To be more than the average person in every way and to see how far I can push things for myself. The motivation is the progress.

my number 1 reason will always be health.

and then for aesthetic purposes.

yeah I just like to be in shape, and the better shape you get in, the better shape you want to be in. Even my dad who's in his late 50's was telling me how for a while he felt like he was dying, and I finally got him to start working out again and he feels so much better, he can move, breath and sleep better all from working out and he's been losing weight too, which I think is awesome that he's finally starting to take care of himself.

Working out is my therapy. Its the only way I can blow of steam and get rid of stress and aggravation. So my motivation is because it improves my physical and mental health:agree

another key motivation is my love of training. i love moving iron and being able to break through pleateus and establishing personal bests....and then trying to beat them

couple reasons...

1. being able to get out of an emergency situation or defend myself if someone attacks.

2. mental health... letting off steam, etc.

3. testing my physical strength and pushing on

I train to be strong when I need to be and to make sure I can still fit in all my clothes

It also helps me keep my sanity, by erasing all my stress.

i don't want to ever be in a situation where i don't feel i have at least a fighting chance to survive.

strength is my most important objective, the way you look is a great byproduct, but its def not the reason i work out at all.

i really let loose in the gym and like tiana said let off steam.

3 overall health and youthful appearance, i know i looke a lot younger than my 30 year old counter parts.

People who really train are so much healthier in every way, I can not imagine being the type of person who sits on there ass all day. I truly believe you cannot live life to its fullest without it. You can use any emotion as fuel in the gym from anger to love.
Take the same person and lie two life paths in front of them, one involves working out and the other...well just does not...this person will literally be smarter from choosing a path which involves working out and staying healthy.
Physical and mental strength, confidence which will make personal and work life experiences much smother, better appearance, personal safety...
Im just gonna stop cuz you can seriously go on forever here, every single aspect of life is dramatically better from it.
