that's how many people were attendance for the Manchester United vs Juventus soccer match at Giants Stadium. great game, 4-1 to Man U. i don't care much for either team but it was a great game to watch. props to Tim Howard in goal -- he looked quiet impressive in his first outing for the red devils.

great game. That was my first experience watching live professional soccer. Hopefully they'll have this tour every year. Number 10 on Man U had an amazing goal...

Ruud van Nistelroy -- dutch goal machine . . . in my opinion, if he picks up where he left off at the first 1/2 of 2003, he's gonna win World Footballer of the Year.

yeah I'm really clueless about soccer players but he really stood out. Would have loved to see Becham play. So is Manchester the team to beat in Europe? Seems like they're dismantling all their opponents on this tour.

Real Madrid will still be the team to beat this year in Europe, even moreso now that they added Beckham. Barcalona will be tough too but they aren't gonna be competing in the European Champions League this coming season. even though Juventus got handled in the exhibition, its because they fielded 2 different teams with their star players spread over both squads. they are gonna be tough this year. Bayern Munich will also be a team to watch in Europe.

lets not forget my team Milan...

they gave Juve (who fielded a much a better squad on sunday than on thurs) a run and a half... either team could have won on sunday both teams seem to show dominance at certain points (al though I think Milan showed they were the better team and dominated most of the game in my opinion)

Maldini... dont mess with him, he may be old but he is no joke...

Nedved... this guy doesnt stop... he is a machine...

as for the two games this week I was much more imressed with the Italian Super Cup than the Man. U game

the Man. U game was fun and entertaining... but thats all it was... a showcase (lot of goals... a lot open field and defending wasnt that tight) for Man U. to show off... the other teams they played throught out the tour def did not give their all... and that was very clear if you saw the two games in ginats stadium this past week.

Forza Milan...

Nedved in the single biggest reason that AC Milan won the Champions League Final last season . . . the simple fact that he was out of Juve's line-up left too big a void to be filled by any one player on the Turin side.

question for you guys who are really into international soccer. Do you have a dish or DirecTV to see these games and do you watch them live? I know a kid who would wake up like 4 in the morning on a Sunday to watch Juventus games.

i subscribe to fox sports world thru DirecTV -- they show mostly English Premiership games, and German Bundesliga games. they occassionally show Spanish Primera Liga games, and south american league games (Brazilian & Argentinian leagues). i know that one of those public international stations that buy time on the local public access channel show Italian Serie A games on sundays.

ESPN2, usually broadcasts a weekly European Champions League match every tuesday or wednesday afternoon, once that group stages get underway.

one of my first projects when my house is ready in the spring, is to set up one of those big C-band satellite dishes and subscribe to setanta sports. they show just about every important soccer game on the globe through ESPN World -- if i can just get the condo association to approve.

I spoke with a few of the workers at giants stadium on sunday and from what they told me Thursdays attendance for Man U vs Juve was the largest ever in ginats stadium. Sundays Juve vs AC Milan game only had about 54,000 people, but the game was announced late and might of had better attendance if it was sooner.

I went to both games and sundays game was definatly more entertaining, ac milan should of won it but def props to nedved who is a machine.
Ac milan should get rid of inzaghi, his game play just annoys the shit out of me, he's always offsides and is always complaining.
maldini played a flawless game
both goalies played great also, they both made extraordinary saves and had the crowd on the edge of thier seats.
all in all it was a great game, too bad it had to end in panalty kicks.

i can't begin to tell u how much i hate pippo inzaghi -- a world class bitch. but sadly, for the 20x he gets blown for offsides, its those few times he gets by that'll burn you . . . and of course, line-judges are prone to error too.

He must of gotten called over 20 times on sunday and couldnt do shit! At one point he scored a goal only to have it recalled cause, you guessed it, he was offsides. The refs were on the ball that day and made only a few minor errors.
