such a pessimist Buc. why do you say that? Think their rotation is gonna break down by then?

Unclebuc

I think their starters will be fine.

Pettite and mussina are the two hottest pitchers in the league right now.

Its the little things. I can't remember the last time this team came back to win a game against a good team. They have been blowing too many games to too many shitty teams as well.

I do think they can win it all, but a lot of things have to go their way. Oakland will be their toughest opponett. Seattle is deep. Plus Gil Meche has the yanks number. they haven't hit him this year. I'm not worried about boston. 1- I don't see them making the playoffs 2- we always find a way to beat pedro.

i see the yanks losing a lot of 1 run games in october

nah not at all, i agreed with u buc till they started making the moves they made, theyre alot more championship callibar this year then they were last year, got rid of 2 losing-rally killing-strike out-non fundemental players in ventura and mondesi who absolutely clogged up the line up that i wanted gone since last year and replaced them with gritty fundementally sound players like boone, delluci, garcia...their bench is stacked, and they play good solid winning baseball, alot less strike outs, moving runners, all the little things, very important, they did none of that last year and it drove me nuts....once contreras and gabe white join this bullpen they will be set there...nelson/white righty lefty set up men, orosco as the lefty specialist, osuna, hammond and throw weaver in there in the playoffs for middle relief if they even need it, this team is ready to win this year i like them alot....its not a given that they will make the world series like it was from 98-2001 but this team is alot closer to those teams then last years was so im happy about that.

The yankees are playing like they used to like in 96,98,99,2000 they worked the counts...like today for instance rivera isnt the same as he used to be ..he used to walk in and the doors would be shut .. but i think come playoff time they will all turn it up and win it all

Todays game is a perfect example of why they are gonna struggle. They don't put teams away. 4 runs in the ninth.

and if your counting on weaver, hammond, and osuna in October then the yanks are definitely in trouble

didnt say i was counting on them said they would be there for middle relief if neccessary, which it probably wont be...and rivera goes through a slump every year always comes around in post season.....team is 30 games over .500 playing great ball won 7 in a row and ur bitching

I dont think they will struggle, if anything I think they ll get better. They only have one guy(Jeter) hitting above 300. , if they start hitting I think it's the other teams that will be in trouble.

oakland and seattle , 2 teams that we make into our bitch everytime we play them in the playoffs......and neither of them are as good as theyve been in the past few seasons

seems like every summer seattle comes into the bronx and wins a series, then what happens in october...same with oakland

the yankees have beaten the royals and baltimore, ya there not the best of teams, even
though kc is in first in there div.if i remember correctly boston played balt and lost 2 of 3.
thats the difference, u play bad teams u have to beat them.thats y the yanks are 7.5 up.
there being patient and getting timely hits, reminding me of the championship yrs.cant wait
for oct.

Buc, your still a YANKEE FAN right?

I am a yankee fan and a season ticket holder. Oakland and the yankees are the teams to beat. Oakland is gonna be tough. They have 4 great pitchers. The Rookie Harden is Nasty. He throws filth. They will have a hard time with oakland as ALWAYS. The A's getting Gullien from the reds will be huge. Plus Tejada is hot.
The yanks also might have a hard time with Chicago. They have 3 good starters and a decent bull pen to go along with a good offensive team.

I have been to over 20 or so games this year, plus caught 95% of the others on the tube, The main problem is putting teams away. They haven't really done it. the only good team that they absolutely man handled this year was the Twins.

If the Playoffs started today the yanks would be playing the A's in a 5 game series. Plain and Simple, the A's are due. 5 game series which would be played tight. A lot of 1 run games.

Seattle draws the White Sox which would be another great series.

Its not that I can't see the yankees winning it all this year cause I can. the Talent is there. Its just not gonna be a cakewalk like 98-00.
