Dmitry and I went to a Cevicheria in the West Village yesterday for some dinner and did a ceviche tasting...was DELISH. I LOVE ceviche!!!
We tasted 3 different ceviches...one was scallop with mango (amongst other flavors but those were the predominent) one with squid and orange flavors and one with shrimp with pineapple flavors. All three were off the hook!
Dmitry also had flank steak tacos and I had enchiladas. The only thing I didnt like was they put tequila in de mojitos :disgusted Dmitry liked that though :keke
who else loves cevicheeeee. I never made ceviche but am DEF making it soon. Anyone have some great recipes?

the best i have had was in Bermuda, the wife and I went on a catamaran day trip, just the 2 of us.. they sailed to a private little island
we snorkled while the capt/chef made us a meal on teh beach, we sat at a table with our feet in the water
scallop ceviche with mago/lime/cilantro
followed by lobster
so yummy

Yeah love that place, and then if you walk down to the corner which I think is Warren, go down toward Paulus Hook to Morris theres a place called Amelies that I think I had a great ceviche with mangoes in it, place also has great brunch & mango mimosas.

best ceviche i have ever had was at Michael's Genuine Food and Drink in Design District of Miami. It was Grouper with Cobia kumquats cilantro made 2 minutes before it hit the table so its still completely raw when it arrives. it was amazing

i'm a big fan of ceviche, they're really easy to make at home too. it's basically a cut, mix and wait kinda thing.
Mercadito (there's one in the west village and another in the east village) has very, very good ceviche. There's a ceviche tasting of 3 different dishes and it's only like 20 bucks, there's a guacamole tasting too which is solid. the drinks there are some of the best i've had out, the diablo margarita is spicy as hell but delicious and worth a try...

ah-jahhh, glad you liked the food there...i'm a fan of that place but as for putting tequilla in a mojito, that's a lil nuts i've never heard of that before:disgusted
the mercadito in the east village has unlimited tacos after 10 or 1030 during the weekdays (for around 20 bucks i think0 and i'd assume it'd be the same deal for the one on grove street. it's a great deal, plus u can order different types too.
there's a place in the upper east side that's a ceviche bar, i've never been there but the menu looked solid....
