when it comes to football everyone normally breaks it down by position as to who is the greatest, but who do you guys think is the single greatest football player ever? who has dominated the sport like no one else?
my answer is jerry rice, nobody has dominated their position like he has

this is a tough one, I think rice is obviously up there, but i think it would have to either be a quarterback or running back. I can't see starting my team with a reciever, that's like selecting a reciever in the first round of a fantasy draft, it's stupid. I'd say maybe Barry Sanders would like Bonds never got the ring because he never had any talent around him, Jim Brown, Montana, Lawrence Taylor.

ummm LT dominated the linebacker position just as much as jerry rice did as a reciever.
LT changed the way the game was played.

Jerry Rice is the greatest reciever, I am not denying that.....
LT dominated his position just as much. Greatest Outside Linebacker ever

Barry Sanders... we in our lifetime will not see a RB as great as him again. 2,000 yards on argueable the WORST offensive line in NFL history. Just the way he faked people out was scary

this may not sound logical but I almost think that sanders bad line contributed to his success because of the juke-style runner he was. It allowed the rushers to be pushed upfield and once he made the first move left him with more space and less defenders to meet. Granted, his ability to make that first, second and sometimes third move was unbelievable.
