Me and my mom are looking to go away for a long weekend, somewhere relativley close..we usually do Long Beach Island , we have done that for the last 13 years and are looking for a change just a quick weekend getaway..we were thinking Rhode Island or even the Hamptons..so if anyone has any other suggestions I'd appreciate it cause I dont even know where to start!!

Hamptons we are looking for something close to the beach, and affordable, pref a nice decent hotel

same goes for Rhode Island

If you like LBI goto Cape May, same feel/a little more Victorian with a different variety of things to do, google the Cape May B&B's and you get a list of nice one's and what they offer, and then AC isn't far away if you feel like gambling or hitting up a spa or something.

there was a just an article in the Travel section of Sundays times about Montauk being the new lowkey alternative to the Hamptons, I think I remember the place out there being called the Surf Lodge?

Nightlife is local dive bars, it's a fishing town mostly.

I'd go to montauk. Its not the greatest hotel but gurneys inn specializes in all spa activities
