Hip Hopper 50 Cent also know as Curtis Jackson, has bought Mike Tyson's 61-room Farmington, Conn., mansion
for $4.1 million, the New York Daily News reported. Real
estate records indicate that Tyson's initial asking price
for the 17-acre property was $25 million. It has 18 bed-
rooms, 38 bathrooms, four whirlpools, seven kitchens, a
waterfall, a boathouse and a 3,500-square-foot disco. The
ex-heavyweight champion bought the house, billed as the
largest in Connecticut, in 1996 for $2.7 million but he
made improvements, including the installation of a large
theater and 1,500-square-foot gym, the News said. The
boxer and his wife, Monica Turner, had tried to sell the
house for years, but the former boxer lost the property
to Turner in their divorce in January.
Pop singer Kylie Minogue has called British police to
investigate over 700 threatening letters she received.
The letters were all sent to her and have the singer
a little shaken....(boo hoo)
Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines wrote an open letter to
the media, music industry, and fans on the Dixie Chicks
website saying they "don't feel part of the country scene
any longer" and they now consider themselves "part of the
big rock 'n' roll family........(thought they didn't like America?)
Roy Horn, half of the illusionist duo Siegried & Roy is
in critical, but stable condition after being mauled by
one of his signature tigers. The tiger that attacked Roy
bit him on the neck and dragged him across the stage. Horn
is on a ventilator and able to respond to voices and touch.
A spokesman for the Mirage hotel where the illusionists
and a lifetime contract announced on Saturday that the show
will be "closed indefinitely." 267 show employees have also

Grunge rocker/actress Courtney Love is in the hospital for
a possible drug overdose. Love was put in the hospital after
being arrested by police for allegedly breaking windows at
a friend's house...(SHOCKER) Also, Courtney Love has had her breast implants removed.
Actor John Goodman was spotted in a bookstore looking
over diet books and taking notes as he paged through each
one. When he was ready to leave, he put his notes in his
pocket without buying any of the books..................Guess he's running out of "Roseanne" money!
Slimmed-down hip-hopper Sean "P. Diddy" Combs
challenged Oprah Winfrey's charity marathon run as well as
her bank account, the New York Post says. At a news confer-
ence, Combs announced his "Diddy Runs the City" campaign in
which he plans to beat the time of talk show host Oprah
Winfrey, who completed the 1994 marathon in Washington in
four hours and 29 minutes. He says he'll run the 26.2-mile
New York Marathon in about four hours, to raise $1 million
for city children. He also challenged Winfrey to come up
with "a million or two" for the cause. To beat her, Combs
would have to average just over 10 minutes a mile as he
runs to the famous finish line in Central Park. A third of
the total funds he raises will go to the city's public
schools. The rest will go to Children's Hope Foundation,
which helps youths with AIDS, and his own children's foun-
dation, Daddy's House.
Al Gore, a political Democrat along with a group of investors are
close to buying a small news cable channel from Vivendi Universal
for $70 million. He wants to launch a liberal cable channel to
help counteract conservative media voices......................
Rapper LL Cool J testified before the Senate in defense of
the music industry's lawsuits against Internet users who
illegally share songs online. That same day, Public Enemy's
Chick D took the opposing view and testified that people
should be allowed to distribute music via file sharing...
Rapper C-Murder, the youngest brother of hip-hopster
Master P, was found guilty of second-degree murder in
a nightclub shooting of a 16-year-old boy. He faces
life in prison....
Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are sche-duled to appear on NBC's "Saturday Night Live," in October,Billboard reported. Timberlake will serve as both the hostand musical guest on the show's Oct. 11 edition. The singeris on a break from touring but will return to the road be-ginning Nov. 16 in Ghent, Belgium. A DVD featuring musicvideos from Timberlake's "Justified" as well as live per-formance footage was released last week, Billboard said.

A 47-year-old woman pleaded guilty on Monday to stalking
Jennifer Love Hewitt because she belived Hewitt could read
her mind and planned to do harm to her. Diana Napolis faces
up to three years in prison at next month's sentencing....
