Movie with Cam Diaz about a family who has a daughter who has Cancer.....So in order to help keep her alive they have another daughter for the one reason to use her for parts to keep her sister with cancer alive.....

From a new born they start taken everything they can from her in order to give it to her sister to try and fight the cancer.....Some very painful and risky operations that leave the healthy sister in some bad shape more than once.....Then when the younger sister is at age 11 she went to court to try and get this stopped cause her family was pretty much forcing her to give one of her kidneys to her sister....She didnt want to do it....So a big legal battle broke out....

It was pretty crazy to me...Could you imagine being born just for the sole purpose of being spare parts for your sister??? How do you think that would make you feel??? Could you do this if you were the parent???? The movie kinda shook me......It was a very good movie, different....Def watch it if you can handle the real depressing shit......

What you guys think of this story??? I think it was horrible what they put this little girl through....Never once asking her, just pretty much holding her down and just taken whatever they wanted from her.......To me its terrible, no child should be brought into this world with that in mind.....I dont know how anyone parent could live with themselves after doing something like this....

this movie was so sad. i cried for pretty much the entire movie. what that girl was engineered for was horrible. i dont see how its ethical in any way shape or form. imo the doctor that recommended them to create a child to save the other one should have lost his job. i can see how the mom justified torturing her child. i dont have kids but i can imagine that if i did i would do anything to save them. but then again i dont know if it would be possible to become so obsessed with saving one child that you continuously hurt your other children. i also felt bad for the brother was was neglected and forgotten.

idk if i would say she was horrible at being a mom. i think she just got too consumed in her daughters illness. it was her way of coping with her daughter dying. it was easier to be consumed in trying to cure her then to face the reality that she was going to die. for a mom loosing a child is probably the hardest thing to go through so i cant call her a horrible mom.

Yeaa, but what is your opinion on the story?? Do you think it was right for her Mom to be taken anything she wanted from the younger girl in order to help the older sister with cancer???

I really wrote this to get some opinions on the topic.....What is urs Michelle??

I understand that, but as a good parent you cant let that happen..The poor kid was disletic and ran away from home and the parents didnt even know....Thats horrible!!! We dont got to get into what they were doing to the poor younger sister...Just because one of the kids gets cancer does not mean the other 2 kids need to suffer also.....I understand something like that is hard to handle, but as a mom of 3 she needed to realize that she had 2 other healthy kids who needed her also.....If I was her husband I would of slapped that shit outta her in 2 seconds....

To me she was being very selfish...She was doing what she needed to do to make herself feel better and really didnt give a fuck about anyone else in the family or how it was effecting them.....She was a loon who let herself get obsessed and lost control of herself....

It was sad and I can see how people think what the parents did was wrong and I can see why people think the parents did what they thought was best at the time. Really and truly no one can judge because unless you're in that situation who knows what you will do.

And 69er you are wrong in the premise at one point they didn't have another child solely to use for "parts". They had another child to use the cord blood...the rest just kind of happened but was never the initial intention.

I think this movie brought forth a lot of attention to those who are on the fence of retaining cord blood after the birth of a child. Though costly it could save someones life in the future.

Nobody should be able to remove organs or anything FROM your body w/o your consent, and how can a child consent? They can't, their parents speak for them, so that should rule them out.
