Could use some advice on dinner spots, nightlife -- any suggestions you may have for a 5 day trip out in San Fran! I'll be out there mid-march. Haven't been in a few years, really looking forward to this trip. Staying at hotel Nikko.

I was just there over New Years. It was my first time and I absolutely loved it.

For places to eat here's a few I enjoyed:
Fleur de Lys in Union Square...Super tasty, more of an elegant restaurant versus a contemporary place
Slanted Door - Vietnamese Fusion...
LIME- Make sure you go for their Sunday Brunch party....super hot and good food too! (make reservations in advance)
Azie- Asian cuisine
I had lunch at this amazing Taco place on Broadway...and I'm so sorry but I can't remember the name but if you ask around it's in Chinatown.

Nightlife...
We made it to Ruby Skye,
Vessel (really enjoyed this spot),
we did New Years Breakfast of Champion party,
Anu- I tiny lounge we stumbled into with low ceiling, couches against the wall and a sick DJ
Tons of adorable places in the Castro neighborhood

Shop at Union Square,drive to the top of the check out Ghirardelli square (there is a cupcake shop right in the heart of it and you'd be nuts to try one out...insanity), check out Golden Gate Park, finally go to Wine Country if you have a day to spend in Napa or Sonoma.

Enjoy...it's a GORGEOUS city.

awesome! thanks for the suggestions! our hotel is right in union square, i read that seems to be the happening spot. can't wait!!

i went to a nice chinese place called tommy toy's that was pretty good and i went to some spot dean took me to that was an old speak easy really nice, i forget the name i can ask him or you can hit him up. he would also prob hook u up at ruby and endup :agree

i wasn't responding to where he would be living, i was giving Court a suggestion of what to do while in San Fran.

my mistake, it was the way i read it. and great suggestion, i myself will be sure to check it out next month
