Claims she only has ten to fifteen years to live as a result of her Hepatitis C.
I find this hard to believe since one of my clients is a Hepatitis drug that pretty much can eliminate the virus from your system (as much as possible). I think this is just a publicity stunt (but she did get coverage in over 200 stations across the country for this statement just this morning).

They are probably on strict regimens of medications and take care of themselves. I'm sure Pamela Anderson is still partying.

Yeah..I didn't know whether to put this in here or in the main forum, but I figured in here since it was news and stuff.
I think Pam doesn't look as hot as she used to.

How the fuck are we haters? I will gladly admit when someone looks good IMO--I am FAR from a hater. No reason to be!

yes.. this is true. shes trying alternative medicine first.. she says only if she HAS to as a last resort she will go on interferon. (that drug has some SERIOUS lousy side effects) my cousin died from HEP C over a year ago. :(

I think she tried SP's interferon combo therapy with ribavirin and it didn't do much for her, which makes me believe she has genotype 1 of HCV--more prevalent in the North America. Interferon/Ribavirin combo therapy is the best chance people have with HCV. If they are genotype 1, though, the success rate is only about 30%. The Europeans tend to get Genotype 2 or 3 which has an 80-90% cure chance with Roche's Pegasys therapy (Shering Plough is currently doing research on this hence why I only know Roche's results).
As Neptune mentioned, the combo therapy is worse (in many cases) than chemotherapy as far as side effects.
Pamela is trying alternative medicine because, quite frankly, she has no choice. There are some drugs that are showing promise for genotype 1 folks but the research is new and needs loads of more research and then FDA approval that can take years.
