the airport isn't that big and is pretty easy to get around. if you are going for BPM or going to Playa you probably want to arrange a car service in advance.

certain parts of mexico arent safe as all over the world. It will always be like that. If you stay on your resort and go to a phat one where you dont HAVE TO leave for anything... your cool. Im staying at the Valentin Imperial. New place. SIck looking. I want to do zip lining thru the jungle... thats about the only time Ill leave my resort. oh... and to see the mayan ruins :)

its not really that dangerous to leave in that part of mexico... you really need to put things into perspective, read the news, take everything with a grain of salt and use common sense...


the reason there is violence in mexico is because of the cartels trying to traffic drugs. the only places they really care about are the borders and central mexico where they are transporting their drugs and carrying out their other business. they really have no interest in going to these tourist areas and/or causing trouble with tourists. and the mexican government REALLY does not want them to cause trouble with tourists. think about it, would it be in anyones best interest if some tourists got killed or in trouble? the cartels don't want that type of attention and neither does the mexican government. it would be detrimental to both of them.
