I def think I could get by easily without one. Anyone think that they need a microwave in their kitchen??? I never use the one my roommate has, unless I am making microwave popcorn.

I don't even like using it for that. I was defrosting chix one time and it partially cooked the outside edges and made that part all tough after I cooked it normally.

Yes, I think it's necessary!

When I need to make my theraflu extra hot, or when I need to defrost something quickly, it comes in handy!!!

Also, during desperate times the microwave works wonders on frozen dinners. :shuffle

popcorn only. I had the same problem with defrosting meat. I never attempted to cook anything in it because if heating up food [especially baked stuff like pizza] tastes blah, cooking in it can't be worthwhile.

One time I over-micowaved a muffin.

It came out somewhat tough...so I proceeded to practice my hacky-sack skills with it.
