My reviews I'm sure deviate from the mean, but here goes.

I arrived Tuesday night and figured I would attend Danny at Space just for the sake of going to a really big party. We arrived later than planned after complications of accidentally exploding all of my friend's plates in the microwave while cooking up some goodies for the rest of the week. Anyway, as soon as we get there, Mr. Firemarshall shows up and so nicely let us all wait on line for an hour and a half. As we walk in, danny is ripping a really cunty mix of Vogue, which I love. Here is where everyone will want to kill me, but I feel that Danny absolutely blew. Besides Vogue and the new C+C Music Factory mixes, the entire set was just all over the place. He went from heavy to cunty to trance to Walking on Thin Ice foreverrrr and back to more crap. There was no flow whatsoever to his set. At Vinyl it sounds like he plays the same track the whole night, which is bad-enough, but his set was just way too eratic. After seeing all the greasy people with K face outside I got scared and split. By the way, I feel that the new Space is nothing more than a smaller version of Exit and it's a terrible setup; RIP the old Space.

Wednesday night was a very cute night; Boris at Spy Club. Everyone kept saying how much that club sucks and I shouldn't go, but I thought it was nice. Boris is not known as one of the big DJs, but I always love to see him spin; I always enjoy his selection. I knew I'd see Dmitry and Miss Eleni at Boris...what a cute couple. Overall it was a nice vibe and I had fun.

Thursday we attended some day and evening parties, but I was too exhausted to go out later that night. We checked out Larry Tee's Electroclash Party at a hotel. It was dead, but I loved the music. I'm definitely purchasing his CD next week when it comes out. Miss Ray and I stopped by Dmity's party at Billboard and it was nice and relaxing. It was nice seeing some of the NCC crew, but I was exhausted and needed rest. We later on headed to a rooftop to the Queer as Folk party to see Peter Rauhofer. After working our way past the guest list that we weren't even on, my prediction was correct that it was false advertising and Peter wasn't spinning. Some girl DJ spun and it was pretty nice until it started raining and the entire deck abruptly cleared lol.

After the long day, I decided to rest that night and planned to drop by that afterhours party at Skky. As if I wasn't already going through it after a dramatic condom-breaking incident with some girl, Skky made my mood ten times worse. The outside deck closed, which means there was no point of even being there since it was daytime. The music blew and at one point I heard 2 DJs spining at the same time in the same room. The discordance of the 2 DJs made me want to puke and that party was a total waste...fucking NY parties.

Friday night a few of us went to Maze. The Scumfrog spun a cute set; I wouldn't mind hearing him again. Peace Division and Low End Specialists spun a decent set and dropped the classic by Afrohead, In the Dark We Live. John Creamer and Stephene K went on next. They were okay, but nothing special, I guess because I was too anxious to hear Vibe. Finally, DJ Vibe came on. I knew it was him the second he came on when I heard tracks with those Lisbon-sounds horns. Vibe spun one of the most powerful sets I've ever heard. The dim, colored lights with all the smoke turned it into the most atmospheric set. I was amazed at the deep, spiritual, Portugese sound that this guy released. I just wish I could express in words the set that this guy dropped. It was a pleasure seeing John Kennedy and his pretty girlfriend. It was an amazing night.

Saturday I was all hyped to see Peter Rauhofer at Maze. Maze has such a small dancefloor, so the vibe was all fucked up. Peter has residency at Roxy, which has the biggest dancefloor in NY. Maze doesn't cut it for a DJ like this. Ceevox performed Don't Leave Me This Way and My Imagination. Since I was disappointed that Peter had such a small venue, we left ot see Deep Dish. While getting ready we heard that it was a 2-hour wait and well as $100 admission. We fell asleep out of frustration.

Sunday night was the most fun out of all. Victor Calderone was supposed to spin at Crobar, but cancelled because his wife just had a baby a few days prior...congrats Victor. Instead it was the Pink Party, which consisted of all local Miami DJs. I went there expecting to be bored from what I thought were no-name DJs, but these guys fucking ripped it. Monty Q, Tony Moran, and Eddie Extravaganza played some of the heaviest music I've heard in a while. It wasn't just heavy, empty, meathead stuff, like you might hear at Factory. All of the elements were there. Alan T performed also. I swear I can listen to that guy talk on the mic all night long lol. I shall never again underestimate Miami local DJs.

It was a nice trip and I'm glad I got to experience talent I have never witnessed beforehand. I'm just dissappointed that I missed Miss Kittin, Adult, and Felix da Housecat. There's always next time.

Is that the excuse they gave regarding Victor? Bc his wife had their baby about a month ago, the night he was booked from Crobar Sunday.

Actually, now that I think about it, I heard that Victor just dropped out last minute, unexpectedly. As if he didn't know his baby would be due. Eh, at least I got to pay my respects to the Miami local DJs.
