Okay so I just joined the gym for the first time yesterday- I wanna get shredded LOL.
I just have a few questions-
1) A)Is is true that I only need 25 minutes of Cardio a day? & that anything after that is a complete waste of time?
B) what machines should I do to get a smaller ass?
2) what is good for shredding a stomach. (mine is pretty flat-I just want abs)
3) People have recommended that I buy Myoplex Carbsense for between meals.
What happens if I drink one without eating? ex: today I drank one instead of eating breakfast--does it even make sense to drink it w/o eating?
Thanks for ur help. Anyone who answers these questions will get to see the results in May LOL j/k

1a) It depends on your goals and your calorie intake, and anything above 25 minutes is not a waste of time.
1b) I'd think the butt blaster would tighten your glutes.
2) Diet, cardio and cruches.
3) What's in it?

the trainer @ the gym said i should try and intake 2000 calories.
1b)what is a butt blaster? My ass is way too big- u dont understand. I think i need to shed at least 5 lbs off it alone.
3)22 grams of protien and zero carbs. it's pretty tasty

I wouldn't drink that carb free shake in the morning your body does need carbs and if you are going to replace breakfast with one have a shake with carbs for the needed energy save those carb free shakes for later on in the day
do 25 -60(depending on how you feel and the intensity you would like) min cardio sessions 3 times per week... and on the days between do toning (abs weights etc.)... by loosing the weight with cardio your ass should shrink
I feel fast pace walking is the best with a high incline for your tush... running personally for me isn't the best for your knees

i dont know your height and weight but i would think 2000 calories is alot for a woman trying to cut.

1) Start with 25 minutes a day, work your way to longer times. Don't wanna overdo it right away, you'll feel shot the next day, and then not train. Pacer yourself.
B- The Precor eliptical machine is a good ass blaster
2) If you just want your abs to show - crunches, leg raises all night long. I train them no more than 3 times a week, and never back to back days. Like any other muscle, they need rest to develop
3) Taking any burner or carb blocker without food increases the likelihood of jitteres, or inability to sleep. If you're gonna take one without a meal, I suggest it be early in the day.
Good luck. :)

1A) no it is not true. depending on goals, times may vary, but anything less than 20 min of cardio for someone wanting to loose weight will be a waste of time, i can tell you that much, unless of course its HIIT, then 15-20 min should do.
1B) do squats and front squats to tone your ass up.
2)shredding stomach only comes when u have a low body fat. all the crunches in the world wont do u any good if u dont have a solid diet.
and someone mentioned u shiouldnt train abs every day. i disagree because abs are an endurance muscle, they are in use constantly every day and i feel it is fine to train them everyday, but to each one his own.
3) myoplex is okie. i wouldnt rely on it. id rather have whole foods. diet diet diet

:suspicion 2000 calories?
That sounds like ALOT for a girl...To lose weight, you must eat less calories then your Basal Caloric Rate. To gain weight, you must eat more calories then your Active Caloric Rate. To stay the same weight, eat no less then your Basal Caloric Rate and no more then your Active Caloric Rate.
Here check this site out...input your weight, height, age and gender and see what it comes back to you with...I think 2000 calories is going to make you GAIN weight...or if anything you are going to have to work out HARD for a minimum of 4 hours every single day in order to lose anything...

That doesn't apply to abs because they're soft muscle, not striated. You can train abs every day and not overtrain them.

If I don't rest at least a day in between training abs, I have trouble standing up straight becaus ethe muscles are so tight/sore. I try to stretch the shit outta them on the days I don't train them.

no of course it is, im just bustin chops :)
1a. i do 15 min HIIT cardio sessions 4-5 times/wk cuz i get bored w/ anything longer than that, but i'm naturally a very skinny person so it really depends on ur goals and body type.
1b. do u want a smaller ass or a more shapely ass? if the prior, then proper diet and cardio. if the latter, do like kemical said w/ squats, but def also throw in some lunges. the days that my ass feels like i went to the gay pride parade are when i did lunges.
2. kemical hit the nail on the head
3. my sis drinks them along w/ her "trainer" friends. dunno enough about them to comment though.

1. for great abs, diet is key but carbs are NOT the enemy!!!!
2. Kickboxing / Boxing & Power Yoga or a Yoga Fusions (ie: hard body yoga with Tari Rose) work for your abs & ass!
3. If you got fat to lose you need to do cardio -- at least 30 but if you dont strenght train your cheating yourself!!!!
Good idea may be to work with a trainer a few times to get an idea of what you need to do instead of trying to figure it out alone -- if anything it will get you into the groove!

the owner of my gym says the same thing. HIIT is a waste for the long run because u burn muscle rather then preserving it. i just learned this yesterday so im going to be walking at a fast pace rather then running.

i don't agree. I think it's good to mix it up. keep your body offguard.

we do ab stretches in yoga... I do abs like every other day and the first time I did ab stretches in yoga I was so sore the next day, it really works

I started doing yoga and pilates to strengthen my back. It was a mess. The ab and back stretches are the best.

Yea, its amazing how it really stretches your body, I had gotten in a bad car accident a few years ago with pretty much chronic back pain, and since I started yoga and continue to do the stretches every day... the pain only arises once in a while like during bad weather
what kind of yoga do you take?

Oh, I'm novice, just use the tapes, but I am actually gonna try out the beekram yoga (sp?) I started basic yoga after I was run over by a car. I was also interested in that yoga they do in like 2 million degree heat, for a sort of body cleansing, but not sure if that's a bit much to jump into. What do you take?

regular yoga makes me sleepy! even power yoga doesnt always cut it -- my gym offered a few of the fusion yoga which gives u the stretch and flexiblity of regular yoga but u also get the strentgh training benefits.
for abs -- another good one is belly dancing - -i did that for a while.....then switched to pilates, which works but again i find it kinda dull. i want to give pole dancing / strip a go. heard it's good but havent found any classes in my area (bummer!)
for butt -- if u want something different try fencing! all that lunging pays off in the end

I used to do something similar, one week dumbells & free weights, the next week machines, but i had to switch my workout completely because i plateau'd and stopped making gains.

how are you burning muscle w/ a short spurt? it's the long drawn out sessions where u haven't fed ur body that ur going to dig into the muscle stores.
whatever.. do what makes ya feel good i guess
and gates.. u still at NYSC in caldwell? i switched back over from axiom. i only go on fridays though cuz the rest of the wk im in princeton.

no nysc in jersey city, which is basically a corporate cardio shop, i go upto caldwell on mondays & weekends, but i hate the jc gym, i've been debating switching but Phucku hooked me up with the family rate passport when he worked there so i've been hesitant to give that up.
