Its not fair that two teams fate revolves around the flip of a coin. There might have been some drastic changes in the history of the NFL if it was this new way the whole time. Every other sport, each team/player gets an equal oppertunity to win so Im all for it. I dont like the idea of the college overtime but a full quarter wood be kool.

There were 25 overtime games last year 40% were won on the first possesion. I think they should each get the ball once.

Football isn't always fair. The game is about defense, contrary to what the trend is these days in the league. If you lose the toss, then your defense needs to go out and make a play to get you the ball. Maybe I'm a purist, but I don't see it as 'the toss of a coin' is the deciding factor. You still have to drive, on average, a good 50 yards to get in to field goal range and if the game is tied, it usually means that has been difficult for you all afternoon. Unless, of course, the score is tied at 42 which is rare.

Only problem is games are too long as it is, so sudden death shortens it as much as possible.

Then don't make mistakes. When you make mistakes, you lose. That is sports. In overtime, you need to be on your A game...if you fuck up then, you deserve to lose.

Yes,

But in all other sports, both teams can make mistakes and they have equal chances. Take it for granted, the way its run right now is and would always be more exciting but you beat the shit out of each other for 60 minutes, each team shoud have a fair possession.

You make a fair point, but I like that football has that to distinguish itself from the other sports.

I'm not a big hockey fan, but isn't it sudden death in that sport as well?

Absolutely,

But where your wrong is the fate of the puck isn't determined on the flip of the coin. Its determined on how skilled your player is at winning faceoffs. But even when the faceoff has been won, the likelyhood of the team driving down the ice and scoring on the first oppertunity alomst NEVER happens as each team always gets multiple offensive and defensive turns where as in Football u might only get one defensive turn before the opposing offense makes a 65 yard drive and kicks a fieldgoal before your offense even gets a chance to do their job.

Maybe your offense didn't get a chance to do the job, but your defense did and they didn't get the job done.

Like I said,

Its much more exciting this way but I just think sometimes teams get burnt in costly games...And whats the big deal of another 15 minutes quarter..these fucking guys play almost 5 times less games than hockey which is is =lly as rough 5 times less than bball but who cares pussy sport and like 10times less than baseball pussy sport too but u see where im going
