It's not working :(
I see you're all obsessed with Vibe now ;)
You can also pick up his CD from Twisted, called Twist This Pussy 2; it came out in late '98. Also look for any tracks by The Underground Sound of Lisbon.

Another CD you might want to pick up is Portugal: Totally Mixed, from Twisted Records, 1997. It's fucking loaded with the type of stuff that Vibe plays.

Howells and DJ Vibe are top two dj's right now.
just my opinion...
I've said vibe is #1 for a while now.
but Howells is top notch too.

I just don't like when people put Vibe and Tenaglia in the same category. Tenaglia's music is way to ditzy to compare to Vibe's.

Thats a good point. I think at certain periods in his sets Danny willl tend to sound like Vibe, but Vibe does not have the down tempo moments that Danny's sets tend to have. At the same time, i have never heard Vibe play for more than four hours so i dont know if he could sustain the energy in his sets like he does over the typical four hour set.
I ended up hanging out with some of his crew from Portugal during his set at Maze and from what they told me, this guy packs in roughly 2,000 people at his party every Saturday night at the club in Portugal and the crowd keeps their eyes on him all night watching him work the tracks.
I would love to see this.

Interesting because I thought Vibe only plays monthly in Lisbon. I caught him in Lisbon in the summer. He started out housey and also had some Latin influenced songs. And he played some garage. I think it just depends on where he's playing, how long his set is, etc.

I love his CDs and his mixes, regardless. I wouldn't see him if he comes to NY again because I won't enjoy the music in this type of atmosphere. I think I would be insulted seeing Jonathan Peters followers dancing to Vibe.
