we're trying to get a family package to go see the game at giants stadium -- me, my bro, my dad, 2 cousins, 2 uncles hopefully. i'm currently in negotiations with an online scalper. there is some internal rivalry in my family with one of my uncles being a huge man u fan and my bro being a juve fan. anyhow, these are two top notch teams and i hope that eventhough its an exhibition match, they deliver a real gritty game.

Sounds like you have some big soccer fans in the fam.

I only get excited about watching soccer when the world cup comes around. The MLS just doesn't do it for me. But this should be quite an event.

yeah, the MLS isn't much to brag about . . . give it another 5 to 8 years and maybe, just maybe, it'll be worth it. it all depends on the overall soccer market here. there's been rumors that david beckham might come play in the MLS. if you think the world cup is exciting, you should definitely look into watching UEFA champions league. i actually prefer european club competitions over international matches.

i appreciate the game, especially the skill level of the europeans and south americans, but if I don't have rooting interest its hard for me to stay loyal. I guess with the lack of media coverage or home town allegiance it's not the same as the 4 major sports for me. But I will tune in to some games on Sundays, especially when football season is not on.

i hope MLS gets it going...
