pros/cons? how stable is the burning (figure a 4.7G disc @4x takes about 135min)? any expensive coasters?
they're down to about $200 for internal models...mostly interested in using it for storage/back-up, but wouldn't mind one that makes decent dvd copies...

I was thinking of getting one but dont really have a use for them right now.

I have SONY DVD DRU-500ax its awesome, i rip all my x-box games, as well DVD's.

personally i think external ones are the way to go right now ... as long as it has firewire connects you can use your pc/laptop and some software to do your burning ... then you have a dvd player, burner, and tivo all in one ... the phillips one i got is nice

Just got the DRU-500 off Ebay for $315. Im gonna install it in my new PC project 3-Gigahertz aluminum machine!!!
