theres one right by my house (on rt 10) ... seems like a decent place when i checked it out... anyone a member at any NYSC and have any reviews?

For some reason when I read the title of this post I thought you were posting about the boy band, NSYNC or however you spell it :shuffle

You live on route 110? I didn't know you live in LI? I used to train at the one on 8th Ave @ 23rd and another one on W 23rd St. I thought they were high quality, but I don't know much about the ones in LI.

I've been a member since April and I really like it. I have the passport membership so I can go to any location. The one in Battery Park City is nice, and it's close to my job and never too crowded. On Long Island, I like the one in Garden City, but also use the one in Great Neck. They're all very similar and come with alot of nice features. Definitely worth the money if you plan on going regularly.

I went for a year with a fake membership. My friend put my picture on someone else's guest ID ;) It lasted until they switched over to electronic swipey cards.

i've been a member since 00 w/ a passport. i go to the staten one when i'm home and the mercer st one (just opened) when i'm in the city. i REALLY like them, they have a lot of equipment and the trainers there are really nice. i've been to the one in cobble hill brooklyn and that is a tad small and cramped, but that's the only one i've been to that i haven't liked.

Yea, I finish the MPH next month. In January I'm applying to the new Ph.D. program so I might be there forever :shuffle

nysc is nice, I got a passport too for like $40, go Phucku. The one in Hoboken is Hot Vagina city, gyms in the city are hit or miss depending on the size, there is a nice one on 40th? and 3rd. If your over by Route 10, you could try the one in West Caldwell right off 46 which is huge.

theres one in morris plains i believe... right next to my house on rt 10.

i wouldn't call that one nice. its 3dr ave between 40th and 41st.i've been to that one with my girl a couple of times cause its closer to her.

as all the nysc clubs in the city, they r all cramped and have maybe just one machine of its kind. the one closest to me on 51st and lex is so shitty. no room whatsoever.

the one in garden city is real nice. i joined for 3 months there back in 03.

and 40 bucks for a passport?? what decade did u join that u got that sort of discount??

anyway i stopped going for a while but even with my company discount it's 76 a month as opposed to the 87 regular monthly fee.

i have nysc and i have to say i lucked out.. i pay $50 a month because i just have a membership to the one near my house (bay ridge) BUT i have used every single nysc in the city.. jersey.. the people at the desk let me in everywhere.. so i try to discourage people to NOT get the 'passport' since i basically have it (knock on wood) and dont even pay for it.. :FLYLIFE

how so?

most pay 75 for ONE location of nysc... or 90 for a passport

40-50 for every single NYSC location - bklyn, the city, jersey.. that is nothing

mercer street and irving place are great ones, mercer is a bit small but has tons of cardio and 2 of every weight machines, irving is nice too (bigger).

the one in staten island is pretty big, it's changed a lot over the years, cuz b4 it was a golds gym. i think it has a pool? i can't remember, it has tennis courts though but they are privately owned .

i got a passport for 75 i think, plus i do personal training, which is heavily discounted :yipee
