no, really though. the same bitch that i went in and talked to and cut me off while i was speaking just cut me off again on the phone. once i told her that id rather no work with her, she suddenly had a cpl mins to talk to me.

and , not for nothing, i know they arent gonna find me shit. she said they have nothing, yet theres about 10 job postings up from them today on careerbuilder.

i hope shes contracts an incurable vd.

They sell people as a comodity. It is so impersonalized; you are only as valuable as the buzzwords on your resume and they only have any consideration if they feel they can use to make money.

If you don't have a strong resume they really will treat you like garbage.

but everyone and their mother can cook up an operations/mgmt resume, if you cant take the tests, proving skills, yes even though its only typing, excel, do u really expect them to put you somewhere?

You're frustrated because of your expectations. I hate to say it but you should lower them. And D is right you def have to take those tests no matter where you go (over and over).

Personally I have done much better with websites then recruiters but I am kind of far along with my carear and what i do is very specalized (sp).

Lower your expectations and you wont be as frustrated

Recruiters get the gas face

You're mis-understanding me. Lower your expectations OF WHAT RECRUITERS WILL DO FOR YOU. Not of what you can accomplish or what you are capable of (don't ever sell yourself short. Selling yourself short has all kind of pysche and spiritual ramifications).

A recruiters job is to lie and suck corporate cock, take everything they say with a grain of salt. As far as the references thing, yeah it helps to have good references, but at the time they check them they've already pretty much made up their mind on whether or not they want to hire you.

just hang in there for the first of the year, there isn't a lot of jobs right now anyways b/c the holidays are here, people are on vacation, etc. This isn't really "hiring" season.

After the first of the year, go crazy sending out resumes everywhere and you might have to deal with tons of recruiters - weed out the bad ones, find the good ones... there are good ones out there that will work for you and "sell" you big time to their clients, and negotiate higher salaries for you.

Cher

ok, ill do that.

and ill just call my landlord, bill companies, etc, and tell them to just hang in til then too.

hey, you were the one coming on here whining about how rough it is...sorry I told you what the reality most likely is

Good rule of thumb is for every year of experience, except your search to be that long in months. Looking for a job is like having a f/t job b/c all of the effort needed.

i wasnt whining at all , i was venting. big diff. and it was more toward this alleged recruiter that i was frustrated.

that rule of thumb sounds like abreak up rule. i understand that this time of year is hard to look for a job or alot of companies dont actually do any hiring until after the new yr bc and all of that. maybe what you are failing to grasp from me , is that i cannot let something like that be an excuse it it just makes me more diligent.
