    Anyone know if you can

help repair a possible hernia? I got a serious pain a few weeks ago when I was doing legs and it came back again today when i was doing them. I have read alittle about them and I dont have a lump or swelling but I was told the tissue first starts to tare and then one day it will just tare apart and you get a hernia.

If there is anything I can do other then go to the hospital (cause I dont have health insurance) I would appreciate some feed back on it.

    Thanks,

    Michael

P.S. It fucking figuers this shit comes up, just as my training gets good again, I start to get hurt...!!

Do you stretch it before and after training legs? And have you stretched it after the "injury?"

I stretch out alittle before legs, alittle during and I stretched out alittle after. I read its not good to stretch too much before you work out. It better during and after.

But I dont think it would be a good idea to stretch out my groin muscles because its the taring thats causing it to get worse..?

Limiting activity or eliminating excess weight (which would mean NO GYM) may provide temporary relief. theres also something called a truss that can be strapped against the groin area. it only provided temp releif but doesnt correct the prob or avoid complications. But sorry to say the only cure is surgery.

I was told that there is this groin strap they sell at health supply stores (same kid ho told me last night about how the hernia starts) it wont let it tear anymore then what it is...I think I ma going to get it.

If not I think I am going to just have to let the fucker rip when it rips...it shouldnt go that quick and hope I get a job with health insurance before it does go. I heard the surgery will only keep me out of the gym for 1 week and I will be as good as new after.....

Guess what I was told last night seems like the only way I can go in this situation..

Yes, it's been found that stretching too much prior to workout leads you to life less weight.

I'm not saying to stretch it, but does it hurt more when you spread your legs or does it just hurt in general? I'm sure you can throw some Bengay or Icyhot on for some relief.

It doesnt hurt now, but when I start to add the plates on the leg press...shit starts to get nasty. I work through it but for a few hrs later its not good. But its fine today.

I actually talked to a doctor that works out in my gym and I found out a few things I can do to make that area stronger. And he said the surgery is painful and can cause alot of infection.
