Reuters: Report: U.S. rushes precision-guided bombs to Israel

Another reason for the region to hate us?

The Bush administration is rushing a delivery of precision-guided bombs to Israel, which requested the expedited shipment last week after beginning its air campaign against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, The New York Times reported on Saturday.

Citing U.S. officials who spoke on Friday on condition of anonymity, the Times said the decision to ship the weapons quickly came after relatively little debate within the administration, and noted in its report that its disclosure threatens to anger Arab governments and others who could perceive Washington as aiding Israel in the manner that Iran has armed Hezbollah.

The munitions are actually part of a multimillion-dollar arms-sale package approved last year which Israel is able to tap when it needs to, the officials told the Times. But some military officers said the request for expedited delivery was unusual and indicated that Israel has many targets it plans to hit in Lebanon.

It can be argued that this in fact is a war by proxy, Iran’s helping the terrorists, we, in turn are helping the good guys.

I see what you mean and it brings up a good point that if we assume that isreal is the good guy and that they have good intentions as opposed to Iran, still how do we know for certain that if we support them they are going to do the right thing? That they are going to end this? That the world is going to be a better place because of there actions. First i still need to be convinced that isreal has good intention and that there actions are going to benefit us. Then I still need to be convinced that the outcome is going to a good one. Do i make sense?

i dont think that the there intentions are inline with US interest. But they are inline with the Zionist lobby in the US gov't.

FYI. Hizbollah is recognized as a terrorist organization by the US and isreal. Just found this out yesterday. SO the rest of the world views them as a legitmate resistance.

Not saying hizbollah is the good guy and im not saying they are the bad guy. Im saying each person has there points and u guys ahve to see that and see that the world arent as simple as W would like u to think.

You make sense, Micha. The problem is it really doesn't matter because we will always support Israel as long as the jews have such an influence politically, in this country. It sucks..and is expensive.

so Germans killed millions of americans, so did the japanese, and Vietnamies, north koreans. And that was in 1982 when the structure of the world was diffrent. They killing americans makes them our enemies at the time. But they didnt kill US civilians. They attacked soldiers. The US killed over 5,000 innocent iraqis does that make us the bad guys ???????

world is not black and white.

I wouldn’t say the REST of the world. Even other more moderate arab countries have spoke out against Hezbollah.

    Taken from

    http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/17/wo...erland&emc=rss

Saudi Arabia, with Jordan, Egypt and several Persian Gulf states, chastised Hezbollah for “unexpected, inappropriate and irresponsible acts” at an emergency Arab League summit meeting in Cairo on Saturday.
