Eat Right For Your Blood Type

Another very interesting diet that I think everyone should take into account and implement into their everyday lives.

To begin we'll go over the basics. We all know there are 4 blood types, A, B, O, AB. This variation of blood types occured through time due to climate and available food changes (or changes in our diets).

The oldest type of blood is O, the universal donor. In the beggining of human history all humans had this blood type.

Then Type A came into play. "A" stands for agrarian lifestyle. That's when humans stopped being nomads for the most part and began to grow their own crops and animals.

Type Bs developed when the migration took place from Africa to Europe, Asia and Americas. Most with this blood type are Chinese, Korean, Austrian, Germans and Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews.

Finally AB, the last to develop due to the intermingling of different groups of pple. AB is the universal receiver, and less than 5% of population is of this blood type!!!

I'll start with Blood Type O, cause its the only one i read about so far.

    Type O

-needs intense physical exercise and a diet that is mostly made up of animal protein (high fat, high protein, low carbohydrates)
    - meats, poulty, and fish - lean and chemically free

    - dairy and grains are not useful for this blood type, try to avoid it ( instead use soy products to get the calcium, also women be sure to take calcium supplements if u do choose to follow this)

    - wheat causes weight gain - clogs metabolism
    - beans and legumes also cause weight gain

    - type Os have low levels of thyroid hormones ( hypothyroidism) due to not enough of iodine. this causes weight gain, fluid retention, muscle loss and fatigue
    - therefore should eat a lot of seafood and kelp and use iodized salt to spice up the food

    - important to moderate portions of meat, no more than 6 oz in one meal

    - meat such as lean beef, lamb, turkey and chicken are good. as well as fish such as cod, herring, mackerel (all fish that is rickly oiled and cold water fish)

    - type O digests meat well because they have high acidity levels in their stomachs

    - beverages that are best to stick to are seltzer, club soda, and tea or green tea
-stay away from coffee because it causes acid to go up and u already have high acid concentration as is

    - not all vegetables are good for this blood type
    - stay away from avocado, corn, cabbages, olives, mushrooms, sprouts and potatoes(accept sweet potatoes are ok), and eggplants

    -not all fruits are ok
-stay away from coconuts, strawberries, oranges, tangerines, blackberries, melon (honeydews and cantaloupes)

-avoid ketchup because its high in vinegar (acidic)

-as for condiments, limit urself to low sugar low fat varieties and even those use sparingly, better to use olive oil, lemon juice and garlic

    - I will mention this again, for blood type Os rigorous, intense exercise is what is needed to relieve stress and stay healthy

Next blood types are soon to come, after I finish reading them lol

Not having a bad day. Just all these fad diets are too much for me. Eat right, take a vitamin or two, and go to the gym. It's not rocket science

I understand what u re sayin, but eating the right things and knowin which vitamins u need to take is a science, it aint simple to know what truly works for u individually.

And this is not another fad diet, if someone treats it as a way to lose weight only than they re not grasping the concept of eating right for ur blood type. It is as I said before a way to KEEP YOUR BODY AT OPTIMAL HEALTH

Ok so lets continue with type A

    Type A

    - thrive on a vegetarian diet
    - soy protein, grains and vegetables
    - try to get the food as natural as possible (fresh, organic or pure)

    - this blood type tend to have a sensitive immune system (predisposed to heart disease, cancer and diabetes)

    - Avoid meat, type As store meat as fat, therefore type As feel sluggish a lot of the time after they eat meat (low stomach acid hard to digest meat)

    - Dairy is also a no no for this blood type - because most dairy is high in saturated fat, and saturated fat is bad for the heart, and when u're predisposed to heart disease u stray away from it foo sure lol

    - soy foods --> aids digestion, metabolizes quickly, optimizes immune function

    - vegetables --> aid digestion, increase intestinal mobility

    - pineapples --> increases caloric utilization, increases intestinal mobility

    - try to substitue fish for meat several times a wk
    - or substitute red meat with poultry

    - stay completely away from processed meats like ham, frankfurters, cold cuts, cause stomach cancer

    - best option with meat is chicken, cornish hens, and turkey

    - seafood should be consumed in moderation (try to avoid any whitefish though)

    - olive oil and flaxseed oil are great, aid in digestion and elimination, lower cholesterol

    - nuts and seeds --> provide the vital protein that u take out when u take meat out of ur diet
    - most beneficial types are peanuts and pumpkin seeds
    - but stay away from pistachios and cashews

    -beans and legumes are greatttt

    - Cereals and grains can eat once or more a day as long as its not processed or instant cereals
    - stick to soy wheat, cornmeals, whole oats, buckwheat, amaranth, millet
    - stay away from wheat bran, seven grain, shredded wheat, granola, wheat germs, granola

    - Bread and Muffins --> avoid if trying to lose weight
-stick to rice cakes, soy flour bread, sprouted wheat bread, ezekiel bread, rice cakes
    - avoid english muffins, multi-grain, wheat bread muffins, whole wheat bread, pumpernickel, matzos

-Grain and Pasta- excellent, great substitute for nutrients that are missing due to no intake of meat
    - but stay away from processed products like frozen meals, prepackaged meals, also stay away from white flour and whole wheat flour, and pasta spinach and pasta semolina

    - veggies --> most vital for this bld type, try to eat raw or steamed
    - stray away from peppers, fermented olies, tomatoes, yams, cabbage, and domestic potatoes as well as sweet potatoes
    - great veggies are brocolli, carrots, collared greens, pumpkin, spinach, garlic, yellow onions

    - tofu is a staple for this bld type, try to buy it health food stores rather than supermarkets, fresher this way ( prepare it with veggies - stir fry with garlic, ginger and soy sauce)

    - Fruits --> should eat 3x a day, try to eat alkaline ones like berries, plums, lemons, grapefruit, kiwis
    - stay away from honeydews, cantaloupes, mangoes, papayas and bananas

-instead of bananas for potassium eat apricots, figs

    - juices --> should start the day off with warm water and freshly squeezed out half of lemon juice
    - try to avoid high sugar juices or dilute it with water

    - spices --> soy based are great, soy sauce, miso and tamari (can get these in low sodium too)
    - avoid vinegar

    - condiments--> avoid vinegar and pickles, mayo, ketchup

    - herbal teas --> anything that will rev up the immune system (aloe, rose hips, valerian, ginger, ginseng

-beverages --> red wine( a glass a day will keep the heartache away he he made that up myself lol) , coffee is ok, and pure fresh water
    - avoid beer, soda, tea and liquor

    -supplements --> B12, Vit C

    - Phytochemicals --> Hawthorn (great for heart and elasticity for arteries, lowers bld pressure

    - exercises --> stress causes ur immune system to grow weak sooo
    - exercise that calms u down and gives u focus such as yoga, chinese boxing, indian stretching, bicycling, hiking, swimming, dancing, aerobic(low impact)

what you are posting is the definition of a diet. a diet isn't something geared for you to lose weight. it's a regimen that advises you what you should be eating.

and how is this not a fad thing? i can guarantee there is absolutely no scientific backing to any of these claims. in fact, it almosts seem dangerous to advise people not to eat wheat, beans, legumes, meat, dairy, etc..

oh yes gp1, I'm making this diet up from the top of my head lolol

but anyways i did forget to post the book "EAT RIGHT For YOUR TYPE" by Dr. Peter J.D'Adamo

It will explain why you shouldnt eat certain things and what to substitue them with in more detail, obviously.

No one is trying to convince u or try to turn u into a follower of this way of eating. Just letting pple know that their bld type plays a role in how food is digested, and there are foods that are beneficial for them and those that arent, and they should try to restrict themselves from the ones that arent good for their health. If you understand anything about how food is digested in our bodies you would know that after it has been digested it goes into the bloodstream and is carried to different parts in our body. If something that u ate isnt good for ur body and ends up going into ur bloodstream , the lectins form agglutinations that destroy red and white blood cells. some of these lectins have a bad effect in the digestive tract, where they can inflame mucous of the intestines and this could create food allegeries. but the book explains this much better than i do.

And for everyfood that is being advised to stay away from it gives an alternative to it so that u dont lose the vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals that that certain food gives you. but again i'm not tryin to convert anyone, just spreading the knowledge of different way of eating that is out there that is beneficial for ur body. u can learn about this and ask a physician or ur nutritionist and see if they recommend it. I dont see why u're getting all riled up against it lol no one is trying to convert u or say this is the only way to eat lol Just another suggestion pple can try and see if it works for them.

no there is no difference, it just gets divided into the 4 blood types. the positive and negative do not make a difference.

Actually the more advanced sequal does get into positive and negative and whether or not you secrete your blood type antigens.

That one's called live right for your type.

For the record, and I believe I have posted this before, I follow a combination of this diet and the zone. I use the bloodtyping diet for what to eat and the zone for the ratio of macro nutrients.

Also someone called this a fad diet, it is ashame that people are so quick to rush to judgement without doing the research. I can understand the navitity because it is impossible to research every single diet that has come out. I assure the OP of the fad comment that if he put in his time learning as just b u is he would be pleasently surprise.

Probably a mis-spelling but what it was supposed to be was a conjugation of the word naive

    more bullshit fad diets...

soy products are terrible for men. they increase estrogen. which make guys appear soft (not hard muscle) , and act like bitches.

i got a mad simple formula, 5 meals a day 1 1/2 grams of protein times per pound of body weight per day, 1 gram of carbs times that by per pounds of body weight per day. a gallon of water.
some fats, dont go over board, eat lots of veggies fruits and only whole grain breads and pastas, complex carbs (sweet potato brown rices) lean meats, turkey fish, lean beef on occasion.

AND GO TO THE GYM!!!! what the hell is wrong with everyone, you aint going to look good and be healthy on these retarded diets. there written in theories none of it is solid knowledge, get rich quick schemes made by people who know that most of the american population is gullible as hell. you can't look good AND feel good on these diets.

    dont believe the hype.

work out hard, interval train, rest well eat well and thats the formula there is no secrets there is no fad diet that will beat any of what i just said.

the seasonal gym warrior wants a quick way to look good then after summers over go back to being a fat bastard. thats not healthy either.

if you eat right and work out correctly you will look the way you want.

mmmmmmmmmmkay, whatever u say (spell check was a joke, relaxo)

    Anyways goin on

    Type B (ME!!!)

    - strong immune system

    - tolerant digestive system

    -MOST flexible dietary choices

-able to resist most severe types of disease like heart disease and cancer

    - but more prone to exotic type of immune system disorders like multiple sclerosis, lupus

-type b has the good of both worlds -->can have the veggies and animals too

-big factors that play in weight gain for this blood type are corn, buckwheat, lentils, peanuts, sesame seeds

-also for weightloss stay away from wheat itself, because it doesnt digest well in this blood type and if a food is not digested well then it will get stored in fat most likely

-dairy foods are a okay for type Bs --> help type B achieve metabolic balance

-Foods that encourage weight loss are green veggies, meat, liver, eggs/low fat dairy, licorice tea

    - Wean yourself away from chicken because it has really bad agglutinating lectins for type Bs
    - instead eat lamb, rabbit, beef, liver, turkey, veal, buffalo
    - also stay away from bacon, ham, pork, duck, partridge

    - seafood --> thrive on it (especially deep ocean fish, cod, salmond, mackerel, haddock, sardines, porgy, tuna, squid(calmari), bluefish, redsnapper, herring, scallop, also flounder, halibut and sole
    - avoid shellfish, like crab, lobster, shrimp, mussels, also lox, eels, octopus, oysters, mussels

    - the only dairy food to avoid are ice cream, blue cheese, American cheese, and string cheese
-otherwise allll the other dairy food is great

-out of fats and oils, olive oil is the best form to ingest (encourages proper digestion and elimination)
-cod liver and flaxseed oil are good also
    -avoid all other oils

    - try to steer clear of nuts and seeds
-but if u must get macadamia, pecans, walnuts, chestnuts, almonds, brazil almonds (but in small amts)
    - steer clear of of all others like cashews, peanut butter, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, pumpkin seeds, peanuts, pistachio

    - limit beans and legumes --> stick to lima, navy and kidney beans, and avoid all others

    - avoid wheat because the lectin from wheat attaches to insulin receptors and prohibits insulin from attachin and in turn you get reduced insulin sufficiency and failure to stimulate fat burning

    - also steer clear of rye bread- not good for your blood and vascular system

-remember corn and buckwheat horrible for metabolism, causes fatigue, fluid retention and insulin irregularity
-instead choose rice, oats, millen, granola, fanilia, and farina

-essene and Ezekiel bread is great as well, fin crisps, rice cakes, and brown rice bread is good too

    - Pasta and Rice same as before --> stick to rice and oats, graham, white and brown rice, spinach and semolina Pasta
-avoid the wheat, rye, whole wheat and barley flour, wild rice, noodle soba, buckwheat and couscous

-Veggies --> three to five times a day
-eliminate tomatoes because it irritates stomach lining, also olives and corn and avocadoes, tofu and artichokes
    - everything else is greatt like green leafy veggies, mushrooms, yams, cabbage, carrots, brocolli, you name it all the others!!!

    - if you get bloated try eating pineapples, has an enzyme called Bromelain that helps digest food easily
-the only fruits that type Bs should avoid are coconuts, persimmons, starfruit, pommegranates, rhubarb, prickly pear
-every other fruit in the world is greattt!!

-Juices are ok, besides tomato juice

-Type Bs do better with warming spices like ginger, horseradish, curry, parsley, basil, cream of wheat, cumin, clove, vingera, nutmeg and so on
-stay away from most sweet hers likes corn syrup, corn starch, cinnamon, almond extract
-however honey, white and brown sugar and molasses are ok

    - avoid ketchup

-with herbal teas drink ginsent, licorice especiallly, also peppermint, rose hips, parsley, valerian, chamomile
-but mostly herbal teas are not vital for type Bs

    - with drinks try to stick to green tea, water and juices
    -avoid lliquorr, soda and seltzer

-type Bs do great in group physical activities such as group hiking, aerobic classes, tennis, biking excursions
-try to mix intense physicall activities with relaxing ones like also incorporating yoga and the others mentioned in type A

-Lastly only about 9% of Americans are Type Bs, out of those about 30 to 40% are self made millionaires

    - and most are Jews(hollaaaa) and Asians

so i looked this shit up.

    3 points:

    1) for the person not calling this a diet. the name of the thing is "the blood type diet";

    2) as suspected, there is absolutely no proof for any of this shit. just some cat looking to make a quick buck.

One criticism of D'Adamo's hypotheses and recommendations claims that he provided inadequate evidence. For example, his first book, Eat Right 4 Your Type, published in 1997, contains only a bibliography. Most of his subsequent books, however, have been thoroughly referenced as far as his general theory. However, the reasons for the classifications of the foods in his diet remains undocumented.

Another criticism is that even though D'Adamo claims there are many ABO specific lectins in foods,[4] this does not agree with what is found in the scientific literature. In research done by separate and independent groups of biochemists, on lectins in different foods and their reactions with ABO blood type, show that there is no difference in how the lectins react with any human ABO type. Lectins which are preferential for a particular ABO type are not found in foods (except for one or two rare exceptions, i.e. lima bean). Lectins with ABO specificity are more frequently found in Non-food plants or animals. [5] [6] [7]

Another criticism is that there are no clinical trials of the blood type diet. In his first book ER4YT, D'Adamo talks about being in the 8th year of a 10 year cancer trial,[8] but no results of this trial have ever been published. In his book "“Arthritis, Fight it with the Blood type diet”, D'Adamo talks about a clinical trial of the Blood Type Diet to determine its effects on the outcomes of patients with rheumatoid arthritis[9]. But no results of this trial have been published.

The author of the book "Eat Right For Your Type", Peter J. D'Adamo N.D., makes many blanket statements about the adverse physical reactions that certain blood types have when eating certain foods

At times, the above referenced book is frightening - filled with mumbo-jumbo 'facts' that will leave Type A's frightened to drink milk, and Type O's running from the wheat fields even though there's not a scarecrow in sight! It is my belief that this dream weaver has spun a best-selling, illustrious evolutionary fairy tale from Never-Never Wheat Land.

Example: Hypothyroidism is attributed to Blood Type O's inability to produce a sufficient amount of iodine in the body. Fact: Iodine is not produced in the body, rather an element consumed in our daily diets.

    3) every criticism i'm reading is agreeing with malnutrition

look at the cons of this. you shouldnt be restricting any foods based on your blood type, that's just dangerous.

i'm not even going to touch on this "theory of blood evolution" that modern science would disagree with.

any diet that's not proven, is a fad diet. sorry to break it to you.
