Greek Islands

My husband and I are planing on going to Greece this summer. I have heard lots of different things from different people about what islands to go to. We are going to try use a week of our time share and then if we want to go to a differnt island for a few days we will do that. We were looking at Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, Cyprus and Corfu. What does anyone that has been to the islands suggest?

Cyrpus is a pretty big island so you would need more time-
Crete as well-my brother was able to split cyprus and crete last summer but he had already spent 2 full weeks in Cyrpus and he only did 4 nights with his boys in Crete-then he went to Greece.

you need more time -

Corfu is on the west coast of Greece so maybe you can add it on ur next trip to greece


but for the 1 week -Santorini and Mykonos i guess is enough time!
3 nights Santorini 3 nights Mykonos 1 night Athens.

go to kefalonia, the beaches there are unreal

second is some caves you go thru with a boat
i took these in 05...this year im prob gonna be in xios the whole time im there
but im thinkin about mykonos

If you want to go to Cyprus, you can check out Ayia Napa for a few days, much like Ibiza, there are crazy parties there. And as for the Greek Islands I would say spend more time in Santorini than Mykonos if you are there with your husband. Its more beautiful and romantic, perfect for couples, whereas Mykonos is a party island as well.

If you are planning to go all the way out there, definitely devout at least a portion of your trip to Athens. Its an Ancient city thats overflowing with culture and things to do. I loved it there.

whatever u do DO NOT miss santorini .. wow... and mykonos i wouldnt go there more than like 2 days.. pretty boring even though its supposed to be a party island... i really liked the south of athens, glyfadah... that was a very nice area too..

I'm going to 2nd what he said, my boy got married on Santorini and it was gorgeous, nice quiet great honeymoon spot. I thought Myknosos was good but not really upto the hype I had heard, from what I hear Cyprus, Crete & Rhodes are nicer and still have nightlife.

And I definitely had a blast in Athens in the cafes below the Acropolis, at whatever the beaches a bus ride away, Athens is gorgeous & the food is spectacular

Crete (beautiful island, has nightlife and low key spots)
Corfu (very romantic) I remember floating from the beach into a distant cave on a float, water was SO clear you could see all the way to the bottom, water in cave was freezing but it was very cool experience.

OH and people forget the Island of Thassos. That's a spot (island) mostly the locals or long time travelers to Greece know about, that Island is not advertised like the rest but could very well be one of the most beautiful, see

mykonos is def a nice spot for like 2 or 3 nights, just to hit the beach party and the afterhours....if u go to mykonos make sure u hit the afterhours its freakin awsome other then tht its not all that great.
glyfada and santorini i hear are awsome and rhodes too my next trip im hitting those islands.
