Another Laguna Beach Bust

The California Highway Patrol is back on the Laguna beat.

Laguna Beach alum Jessica Smith, best known for befriending teen queen Kristin Cavallari and dating Beach bum Jason Wahler, was arrested late Monday on investigation of felony driving under the influence.

According to the CHP, the 19-year-old ex-reality star was taken into custody after she crashed a 1999 Volkswagen Beetle into another car while driving on a northbound stretch of Interstate 5 in—where else?—Orange County.

Per a report filed by cops on the scene, the accident took place at 11:50 p.m. Monday night, when Smith, driving 70 mph, hit a car in front of her that was going just 65 mph.

The arresting officer said that Smith's level of intoxication, which was not released, along with her unsafe speed of travel and the wet roadways all played a part in the crash. The legal blood-alcohol limit for the state of California is .08 percent.

The report also initially indicated that Smith was "driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs," though the "and or drugs" portion of the statement was later crossed out.

While Smith apparently escaped the accident unscathed, a passenger riding along with her, 20-year-old Lindsay Cooper, suffered minor injuries as did Roy Hernandez, the driver of the Acura that Smith rear-ended.

The former reality star was arrested at the scene and booked into the Orange County Jail. She remained in custody in lieu of forking over her $100,000 bail and was due to appear in court to face the charges Wednesday morning.

Whatever her punishment, she'll likely fair better than season two beau and costar Wahler.

Her SoCal cohort recently pleaded no contest to one count of battery and was sentenced to serve 60 days in Los Angeles County Jail. Meanwhile, he's also due to appear in North Carolina court in April following his bust on underage drinking charges in the state earlier this month.
