    Adjusting Machines

Ok so I'm new to using ALL types the machines. I've only done treadmill and stairmaster my entire exercise career. lol. So I'm trying to start using machines to tone my arms and legs. My problem is, I don't "feel it" where I'm supposed to. And I did get help adjusting the machines to fit me. I'm tiny so I had to change everything I went on. But is it possible that some machines just won't work for me?

Like the bicep one, this trainer said it will never work. And this leg one where you sit, lean in and push one leg back... nothing. Is she right? Or am I just using them wrong?

    Thank you.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but maybe you should stick to free weight exercises (not machines) and i guarantee that you will feel it in the designated muscle group
It is incumbent on you, yes You, to educate yourself to a sufficient extent that you are in a position to evaluate information issued from a position of authority. You are supposed to be able to recognize silly bullshit when you hear it.

girls should never not do free weights because they feel stupid, just use your natural charms and get one of the trainers to show you some stuff. Alot of girls fear using free weights because they fear getting bulky muscles like guys, but 95% of women would never use enough weight to do that. Women shouldn't be afraid of free weights a little tone is sexy.

I'm not afraid of the weights. I know they're important. I'm just a little embarrassed at not knowing what to do. You know when you first start it feels like everyone is watching you and thinking how silly you look lol. I know in time I'll feel more comfortable, though.
