yes- been going to Victor's since i was nine- its possibly some of the best cuban food in the city!

a little old school- great friendly service, not too much in terms of ambiance, but the food is delicious and plentiful.

    Enjoy

food was great! This is what I had...

    appetizer:

    Chorizo Salteado Servido con Mariquitas
    - Robust Spanish sausage slice & sauteed w/ pimentos, onions & Mnazanilla olives, served w/ carribbean vegetable chips

Ceviche de Pargo con Mango y Aguacate - Fresh red snapper ceviche marinated w/ lime, onions, chiles & garlic. Served with dice mango and avocado <<< this stuff was sooo good

Empanada de Yuca Rellena con Langosta
    - Savory cassava turnover filled with chunks of Florida Lobster

Entrees weren't family style, so of course I got a dish w/ caramelized onions. I'm usually not a salmon fan, but wanted to try a salmon dish....and it was great:

    Salmon del Canaveral
    - Salmon fillet seared in sugarcane glaze w/ caramelized pearl onions & sauteed asparagus

I also had some of my father's Lechon (pork) and that stuff was marinated so well, the thing practically melted in your mouth.

    Dessert:
Pina y Helado - Fresh pinapple chunks boiled w/ dark rum & Gran Marnier. Served in a sweet almond basket w/ rich vanilla ice cream <<<<

Overall I was expecting a bit more from the dinner, but I enjoyed it. I'll def be going back!

I'm glad you enjoyed it- next time have bistec empanizado my favorite on earth.

The thing you have to remember when going here is that its traditional cuban food at its best in an upscale environment- you aren't going to be getting haute cuisine b/c that's not what we really are about culturally.

    Now I want some

I'll def try that out nxt time I'm there. I wasn't expecting much, but the staff was very courtieous and felt very home-y....esp since we were there for like 4hrs just talking. lol. My parents were actually wondering if they had some kind of live performances there during dinner since we noticed a grand piano in the corner. That would've made the night i think.
