    Holiday Restaurant Stops

Pre-Birthday Dinner at Thai Select (9th Ave, btw. 36th and 37th) - Everything I've had there is awesome, especially the Thai Shrimp Garlic and the Sea Bass Fillet. Their satay and crab wontons are delicious, too. - 3 cocoanutts

Birthday Brunch at Chinatown Brasserie (Lafayette by Astor) - Amazing suped up dim sum. There is a fresh shucked fried oyster dim sum that is fucking amazing. The chive dumplings and the eggplant dimsum are also amazing - 3 cocoanutts

Birthday Dinner at Blue Water Grill - Excellent. I had this Black Ruff fish with lobster, which was ok. The lobster slider appetizers were awesome, as were the crab cakes and lobster ravioli that my brother ordered. I tried someo of everyone's and all were very good. - 3 cocoanutts

Christmas lunch at Shun Lee (65th btw Columbus & CPW)- The wait was a little ridiculous because these Chinks obviously overbooked, but once we got seated, the food was yum. The had some dim sum dishes. Decent, but nothing special. They had a sesame chicken dim sum that was basically a chicken cutlet breaded with sesame seeds. I had a szechuan alligator dish for my entree. It was really good, but a little heavy on thesauce. We also got seafood pan fried noodles, a duck dish, and an eggplant dish that was really good. Their desserts kinda sucked. - 2 & 1/2 cocoanutts

little chewier, but yummy. With all the sauce and the batter, it could have just as easily been general tso's chicken, lol. I had alligator at one of those brazilian places where they just keep bringing out meat. This one was in Newark. Awesome. You can appreciate the taste of the meat much better. A bit salty, but delicious.
