    went to Lugers in BK

first time there, went for a late lunch today. started off with some bacon and a caesar salad. the bacon was awesome, the salad was damn good too although i thought they'd have better croutons. then I ordered the porterhouse for 2 just for myself, because I didn't want to just get a sirloin and my father doesn't like his meat cooked the same way I do. I then began to eat it and it was very chewy, which a $85 steak should never be. I had the waiter take it back and give me a new one, no hassle. I also tried my father's sirloin which was awesome. The second steak was far better, very tender and more flavorful. The juice that comes with the steak was not very flavorful, and kind of oily, IMO. The fresh made steak sauce was off the hook though. All in all, it was a pretty good experience there, especially considering the issue with my first steak. Contrary to what I have been told, the waiters were all very nice, friendly and helpful.

    Other things I liked:
    - the fact that they have a free parking lot for customers. This is unheard of in NYC.
    - The ambiance - love that old fashion steakhouse feel, the wood, the tables...this place is ONLY about steak.

All in all it was a good experience. I would go back. I am not sure if it was the absolute BEST steak I ever had but it's up there. Just ate the leftovers(which wasnt much) and I feel like there was more flavor once it cooled down a bit.

ive been to the one in great neck twice and for me it was the absolute best steak i ever had. I love the fact thats its all about the steak and not window dressing so it can take your mind off the steak.
and the steak sauce is amazing, i have 3 cans of it at home

    Luger's.

I recently went to Wolfgang's Steakhouse (he was a former waiter at PL's) because I couldn't get reservations at PL's and was told it was just as good and although the food was good, it didn't compare to PL's at all.

I have not eaten at Lugers but I think the steaks at Ruth's Chris are REALLY good... I have to get out to Lugers but I think the hype will end up disappointing me more than anything.

yeah i think my expectations of lugers were too high. the way people talk, i expected to take one bite and spontaneously orgasm, and anything short of that would be a disappointment....it was great dont get me wrong, I just assumed better and it's prob partially my own fault for anticipating it so much

Was going to go here last night but ended up at Burton & Doyles instead..it was my first time there and it was delicious!

We had a caesar salad to start...porterhouses for 2 which was cooked perfect and melted in my mouth (not chewy or fatty at all!) and creamed spinach and mashed potatoes...everything was perfect and I will definitely be going back!

The thing that I also loved about it over Luger's was the service!
you look in my eyes...and i can see heaven
you hold me close...and it feels like a river
    isn't it unbelievable..baby it's a miracle

I went to Lugers in BK last friday, and I have to say it was much much better then the last time I went there. However, its still not in the league with Tuscan Steak, Dylan Prime, StripHouse or Wolfgangs.

that is not a proper enough steak for my liking. I like a conservative, straight up steak.

I have to say I really don't like Lugers. I have had much better steak at quite a few different places.

If you need some type of dressing on your steak, then the piece of meat isn't tasty enough to eat plain. I'm going to open a place where you can walk into the back shank the cow yourself Fast Food Nation style, threw the meat on a grill and yank it off while it's still mooing, with juice running all over the place and the fat sizzling like a christmas log.
