fry it in some chicken grease while you're at it!!

I have a nice sized deep fryer... doesn't get much use though because of the cleanup. great to make potato chips, fried calamari, egg rolls, zeppoles... sometimes i even throw a few pieces of pepporoni in there bc it tastes ridic when it's crispy.

That is why I got the smallest one. So I dont use it for much or that often.

This is the first thing I am going to make in it:

    Ingredients:
    2 cups Captain Crunch Cereal
    1 1/2 cup Corn flakes
    1 Egg
    1 cup Milk
    1 cup All purpose flour
    1 teaspoon Onion powder
    1 teaspoon Garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
2 pounds Chicken breast cut in 1-oz. tenders
    Vegetable oil for frying

    Directions:

Coarsely grind or crush the two cereals and set aside. Beat the egg with milk and set aside. Stir together the flour, onion and garlic powders and black pepper. Set this aside also. Dip the chicken pieces into the seasoned flour. Move around to coat well, then shake off the excess flour. Dip into the egg wash, coating well, then dip into the cereal mixture, coating well. Heat oil in a large heavy skillet to 325 degrees. Drop coated chicken tenders carefully into the hot oil and cook until golden brown and fully cooked, 3 to 5 minutes depending on size. Drain and serve immediately with Creole mustard sauce.

There is a mix that they sell in the grocery store thats a tempura coating that you could throw on instead.... Sounds like a quicker prep too. Its realllyyyyyyy good.

Love my deep fryer. I've only used it for empanadas so far, but like Rachel said... chicken tempura will be next. I love the fact that when I use it, my whole house doesn't stink of oil afterwards.

Yes. But I was thinking of the house/oil factor.

I guess they would break apart anyways.... We'll have to stick to french fries or chips if we want to get potatos fried up!
