It is incumbent on you, yes You, to educate yourself to a sufficient extent that you are in a position to evaluate information issued from a position of authority. You are supposed to be able to recognize silly bullshit when you hear it.

crossfit, kettelbells, i use SOME olympic/power lifting with my more advanced clients, teach spin , teach other group fitness classes that are martial arts/dance/western training fused classes.... all sorts of fun stuff

then i myself have started training in muay thai and some mma plus im gonna start throwing some capoiera classes in to see how i like it.

btw in the video, im not doing the box jumps bc i slipped a disc in my back 3 weeks ago so i didn t wanna overdo it since this was my first time doing this intense a workout since.

The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Truthfully, I've always implemented aspects of this type of training into my clients and my own programs long before "crossfit" becamed marketed as a program in itselfeven when I first got into personal training 12yrs ago, I've been fortunate to hv learned so many things from so many more exp fitness professionals.

Now at this club, I'm surrounded by a lot of type a no bs guy almost all of them hv a martial arts background, ones an ex army ranger, ones an ex marine 5th recon, and a cpl of them fight( one did professionally for a number of yrs in muay thai -hes also my muay thai insrtuctor). so we all sit there and think of ways to incorporate all of what we know as a group and then abuse ourselves with it. We all have the mentality that we are professionals...we are athletes ( there's no such thing as a former athlete) and we will continue to train like athletes.so since I've been with these guys, we have been going hardore.lots of times we are just hanging out inbetween clients and will just come up with shit to test on ourselves.

Once you understand movement and the way the body can work, its unlimited in its capabilty.

No this is my career. I started owhen I was 19. Got my first cert at 20. Then I would go back and forth between training and health club management. I kept getting more certs but I finally realized that the only time I'm happy with my career is when I'm a trainer. So I am just focused on being the best trainer possible and have a lot of stuff going on within my own branding and marketing as a trainer.

Honestly, If you want to make money doing this, you can't do it full time. And if you are switching careers, have some money saved up. its a lot of long hrs the first few months to build up your book and end up witha. Solid amount of paid sessions. Plus there is a lot of competition out there ( not all of it good). So the more visible you are, the more ppl will feel comfortable with choosing to train w you.

Being a successful trainer isn't just about what you know.... Its knowledge, sales ability. Personality, and of course its superficial. I hv known and stil do, trainers that are so smart, have masters degrees and every high cert possible...but look nothing like what one would expecta. Trainer to look like and hv no personality. They don't hv nearly as may clients as other ppl.

I wouldn't tell anyone not to do this if its truly what they are passionate about.... But having passion for your own training isn't the same as being passionate about training others. It takes a lot of work and time to be asuccess in any field, so if its what you're willing to do then go for it! I'll answer any questions possible. Been in this industry a lonnnnnnnnnng time lol
