so this sunday my friend and i did the bike tour for multiple sclerosis which consisted of a total of 66milesthe course was 66 miles but we did bike ride from my apt on broadway/10th going there and coming back so that made my total day of bike riding about 70 miles lol.
i really cannot believe i pulled it off..well, i probably wouldn't have if my friend did stick by me and keep me motivated the whole way (jesus if i knew irene was like a super athlete i would have trained a million time harder lmao) there were many times i wanted to jump into the medic and give up thoughwe stopped at about 5 times totaling no more than 45 min combined
but i was able to push myself to my LIMIT and refused to be a quitter and we ended up completing the course in about 8 hours. it was definately an amazing and genuinely rewarding experience, we were in so much pain after though.. our bodies were in like total shock we had to head over to some russian bath house and roast in a 180 degree sauna to relieve the muscle pain
heres something of what the course consisted of:
- started at w 46th and 11th
- biked the entire perimeter of manhattan back to w 54th & 11th (30 miles)
- headed straight to lincoln tunnel and into jersey
- headed from hoboken to palasades interstate park(10miles - completely exhausted at this point)
- spent about 4 hours in the park which was actually a mountain that was mostly uphill![]()
(only 5 miles but took about 4 hrs lol this is about the point i wanted to drop dead )
-another 15 miles until george washington bridge![]()
-crossed GWB and biked another 6 miles from 178th st in harlem to 54th and 11th
SOME PICSSS
race started at 7am on sunday in POURING rain, thought we were gona get hypothermia. had to ride for hours soaking wet
after riding the lincoln tunnel which is badass cause 1/2 of it is uphill lol
Our Team "Pipas" its greek
