    Lost feeling

I love the workout I get on the eliptical, but does anyone else lose feeling in their toes when they're on there?

Am I doing it wrong or could it be my shoes? I dont think I can keep this routine if I cant figure out how to stop it.

Rachel, this used to happen to me too! It's def. the shoes. I went to Marathon Sports and got sneaker fitted (they had me walk/run in sneaks and watched me walk etc. and picked out the best pair for me). You can't believe the difference it's made. They also had me get a whole size bigger than I normally wear b/c I guess your feet swell when running/doing cardio. I was skeptical at first, but I haven't had an issue since.

I switch off between different pairs of shoes though, I dont know if I'm 100% sold on that but maybe I'll check into getting a pair w/ more cushioning specifically at the front of the foot. Guess I can check w/ a trainer too and make sure I'm doing it properly.

could be the angle of the press thats causing your ankle to extend slightly, maybe impinging the blood flow.

its prob not the type of shoe. it may be you are just tying them too tight and cutting circulation.

Loosen up your laces. It happens to me all the time if my shoe is too tight. Unlike runing, I actually have to loosen my shoe for the eliptical.

yea you dont need to tighted shoes on elliptical because your foot is stationary and not requiring traction as the treadmill does

My laces arent too tight, i'm a big girl I know how to lace my shoes properly, lol. I also know a decent amount about shoes since I worked for years for Footlocker back in the day.

It must be in how I stand, I press down on them too hard or something, who knows.

    Thanx for zee advice peoples!

A trainer once told me that the Pre Cor eliptical machines (which is what most gyms have) are designed for people 5'5 and taller. So it can also have something to do with your height. I have heard that the Arc Trainer is the best machine because it fits all heights.
What if the Hokey Pokey REALLY is what its ALL ABOUT?
