Was in a cab Friday Night....

Cab driver told me that the 14th street exit off the FDR was closed, and I asked why. He told me its been closed for over a year. He then went on to tell me the story of his son, who is a NYC Department of Transportation employee. He said his son told him "Dad, I feel like I am stealing when I get my paycheck. I do nothing all day."

Life is good in the public sector. Then again youd never know it on this forum because this is the same forum that has no problem with 6 figure pensions for 20 years of work.

Lol I had a bag full of change last night that I brought out for the express bus that I didn't end up needing last nite, I ended up paying half of my cab fare with $5.50 in quarters lol. He didn't even care to count it haha.

    Awards Showcase

Life in the public sector won't be as good in the future as local & state governments continue to face budget deficits.

I'm not as confident as you sound that this will happen.

its going to take a long time for people to wake up. There are lots of renters in this area that can't make the connection between property taxes and how it impacts them 'because they don't own a house'.

life in the public sector is absolutely sunny and has been for a long time now. 20 years, 6 figure plus pension, doing nothing all day, benefits for life, no threat of ever losing your job. where do i sign up?

Public sector is where its at. Private sector is overrated, unstable.

what you say is true but that is not a good thing. thats a problem which needs to be fixed. the public sector shouldn't even be large enough to compare to the private sector.

government has become an ever growing monster that doesn't want to stop. its basically just a big mob trying to put everyone else out of business
