Blackberry 7 devices on the way

I am excited mainly because I handle the mobile devices for my office and i'm very interested in the Bold and the Torch 9810. Also i've been holding onto my Tour, waiting till I can upgrade it to the new release from RIM.

i had a blackberry yorch. i lost it in a gettin fierce accident at surf. i liked it as a phone per se. liked the touch screen and slide combo. the blackberry operating system sucks though. got an htc inspire. had to give up the keys but the operating system was worth the loss. android is fucking great. i feel like i was living in the stoneage with the bb apps.

RIM is on the outs. Stock got the shit beat out of it all year and their phones are awful.

This is basically a last stand for RIM. If this new OS and these devices aren't successful, they will have problems.

1)BBM

2)the hard, rubbery scratchproof material they use on their devices.

You guys are not comprehending the market place here. Believe it or not, your beloved iPhone is not the end all of devices. If any of these new Blackberrys can better combine the old RIM workplace functionality with the newer technology fun to play with shit from touch phones like the iPhone or Droid, it can be a really good USEFUL device. Application availability will be key as well. Don't act like everybody doesn't complain about the iPhone keyboard either. There is a reason alternate keyboards came out for it. I'd rather spend a year in a Mongolian prison that have to type emails on an iPhone all day.

Trust me I like the iPhone, but everything has it's purpose. The iPhone is not the universal player it wants to be just yet. I think it is a tall order for RIM to expect any of these phones to take the market by storm. They have way too much ground to make up. But, i'm sure they will be at least a few steps or even leaps forward from their current models. It's been over a year since they released a phone so they better have done this right.

As for my personal phone, i'm waiting for the iPhone release to compare it to either the Droid 3 or Bionic.

I'm gonna be completely honest right here. I've had many blackberry's and not 1 of those 3 things has every been an issue for me, or the couple of hundred blackberries that I maintain every day. haha

Anyway, what I mean by that is the new OS is supposed to be good, has more features and useful things that you could not do in OS 6. The touchscreen works well, the browser is supposed to be alot faster, it's thinner and has a slightly larger footprint (bigger screen), better BBM, good camera, good keyboard...all this while staying true to what it's meant for. It's not a direct competitor for touch only, app happy phones. It's a business device that supposedly now has a better blend with that other side of the market.

Rumor has it the new Bold is very good... My bro should be getting his tommorow and ill prob get one in a week or so if i like it. I dont browse the internet very much on my phone and i really want to stay with a real keyboard and an upgrade able battery. Therefore the new blackberry is for me.

my biggest probs with the torch is i feel its not touch friendly, my hands move faster then the phone. the other thing that pisses me off is the fact i bought a $40 case for it and otter case which was a total fail. nice case but not not tested.
